Targa Florio Graffiti : Interlocking V's
I bought a copy of the Brooklands Books book about the postwar Targa Florios and had a question that hopefully you good folks will know the answer to...
In most of the pictures there is graffiti on the road and buildings in the form of two interlocking V's - almost a W - endorsing various drivers and teams eg. 'VV Ferrari'. I assume it is some Italian Acronym, but for what? |

think it was something like 'vendi vici' i always asumed it meant the same as 'Go' in English or 'Allez' in French.

It stands for "viva" - "long live", but in this context I think it means something more like "go!" as in "go Nino! go!".
 It was J Caesar who is supposed to have said veni vidi vici, but that's latin for "I came, I saw , I conquered" |
