[iV8SC15R101112] Nissan NP300 Navara Winton SuperSprint, Winton Raceway: 15-17May
Only two weeks til the next V8Supercar join us again from sunny Winton Motor Raceway... Three races for the Winton Super Sprint round of the V8SC Championship series, 2x 60km races on Saturday, 1x 200km race on Sunday. Winton traditionally favours a good handling chassis, home as it is to the Victorian (and Albury) based teams, it is usually the Queensland teams that prove best here. It makes for a good race too, especially if it rains... The usual suspects should be on the money here, PRA, 888, Tekno, HRT & maybe now Erebus.. Wonder if Mrs K will have stopped partying by then Biggest story of the event may just be the return of Mr Ambrose. The 400km of tuning affirmations didnt seem to translate to anything in Perth... maybe its time to change... again... Only a short while til we find out... then its time...! |

I think the support categories for this weekend are worth the price of admission alone. (DVS, TCM, Sports Racers, Sports Sedans)
I have heard rumours of 32+ Kerrick Sports Sedans entered, as it is a round of their National Championship. |

It's Winton, and it's May. Of course there will be rain, but probably not a massive amount. That usually is saved for the last weekend in May, when the usual historics are racing.

Will PRA's new found speed continue or are their machines more suited to tracks with fast flowing corners?

Legend has it when the A7CC was looking for which weekend they did some research with the BOM and The end of May is supposed to be the least likely to be wet. Mind you we both know it hasn't always been correct |

Bit of a meh circuit at times IMO. Some good times but a bit of a snooze at times. Could BJR be back on form as their cars are pretty good in terms of chassis.

Hard to suggest hometrack hoodoo for some teams, when Triple Eight hasn't had the best of runs in recent times.

V8 SUPERCARS TEAMS GRANTED EXTRA PRACTICE TYRES
V8 Supercars will allocate each entry an extra set of new tyres for use during practice at Winton following recent unrest over a lack of the Dunlop rubber. To be handed back at the end of fridays session |

helps the team with lesser quality tyre stock to get a better read on tyres, especially at LDM.
From memory Winton is not as demanding on tyres as WA so will eb different anyway. Reckon they wont be short of race tyres this weekend |

Why not allow them to add them to their tyrebank, providing they're not raced on?

Despite the BOM being willing to play the 7 day / 10 day / long term forecast game at the behest of the TV networks they have no real ability to predict the weather to the degree being claimed beyond 3, maybe 4 days.

Believe me most of the forecasters in the BoM couldn't predict their own lunch break let alone a weather forecast for several days.
