Chris Prey
Ive been followed Chri's career from Skip Barber Pro Dodge series in America, and last year he finished 3rd in the Formula Dodge National championship in what was a very tight series:
Top 5: 1) Marco Andretti 191 2) Gerardo Bonilla 182 3) Chris Prey 173 4) Benny Moon 172 5) Robbie Pecorari 152 With Benny Moon having already won the series beforehand. With that in mind he recently debut in the Toyota Atlantic series and did exceptionally well with limited experience. And was running as high as seventh until: "It was a simple thing, really. I missed the throttle blip to the down-shift going into the turn and lost my braking rhythm. The car slowed enough that it lost its downforce from the wings and ground effects, which gave me too much brake pressure and locked up the front wheels," Chris said. Gehl's Marketing Manager, Lori Heidecker, said, "This weekend was a huge success for us. Chris is a incredibly talented driver with a warm personality, and all of our guests enjoyed watching Chris drive the Gehl car." Hopefully next year he can find himself a full time Toyota Atlantic drive and show everyone what he is capable of doing. I would not be surprised at all if he finishes in top 5 of the championship and bags a debut win next year. But certainly, watch out for Chris Prey. |

Yeh thats right he is American. And despite his lack of sponsorship, his professionalism and controlled agression made him one of the top drivers in last seasons Formula Dodge series. The main point that made him stand out, was the mere fact the opponents who beat him were driving with better machinery, and with a lot more $$ to spend on development during the year. Especialy Marco.
Also his debut with Jenson Motorsport was impressive enough for them to consider future dealings with the American expressing their thoughts about his skills for his ability to learn the car so quickly and to be in the top half of the field throughout the race on debut. Of course there are plenty of talented drivers out there who are grabbing all the headlines throughout Europe and indeed around the World (Lewis Hamilton, Parente) Whilst i dont believe he is in the caliber of those drivers, i do believe Prey in 2-3 years will be one to look out for. Where he ends up, will be due to two factors $$$ and opportunity. |
