cos should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
BTCC Brands Hatch: Rounds 22, 23 & 24, 18-19 August

Leason looks to have switched from the BTCC to Porsches now, not sure if Pocklington or Kerry will be there this weekend.
However, Gavin Smith is making a comeback, driving a GR Asia SEAT Leon for the last three weekends.

What's the weather forecast like? I've got a couple of tickets and might well pop along if it's gonna be sunny.

Alfa Fan has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Kerry is racing this weekend. Don't know about Pocklington, I think he's withdrawn from the series (hasn't been at the last two meetings).

Race two on ITV4 live. Race three on ITV1 live. No Setanta coverage this weekend.

It's a shame Smith gets the Leon and not Jones.

Craig: 21 deg sunny forecast, however, I aint no Sian Lloyd.

Not quite true. Setanta announced at the start of the season they would show 8 out of 10 of the meetings in full live. The two meetings they will not be showing live are Brands Hatch this weekend and then Knockhill in September. Both these meetings will recieve 2 hours of highlights on the Sunday evening, where all 3 BTCC races will be shown in full. Live all-day coverage returns for the season finale at Thruxton on October 14.

But what is true is that they have 'dropped' 2 events now, when the footy season has started, rather than at any time when there is no football. Coincidence? I think not. More people care about football in this country than the BTCC.

Guess it was going to happen at some point. Man, I'll miss the Clio's & Cupra's

From btcc.net, dated 11 March 07

All ten race fixtures will also receive highlights coverage on ITV’s Men & Motors channel (Freeview/cable/satellite). Furthermore, each race day – including the BTCC’s support championships – will be shown live on independent sports channel Setanta Sports (subscription cable/satellite).

Well - for a lot of the season. I think redshoes has correctly implied, full coverage for the season was announced and then very quickly some scheduler realised Brands Hatch 2 and Knockhill had a bit of clash with their core clientel's favourite sport.

Anyway - this is all off topic, armchair gubbins - if it continues, it goes to Craig's dungeon! - back to the race please

That's ages away!

Went to put the races in planner this evening and found it wasn't on, shame as was looking forward to Clios etc but saying a couple of days won't be shown in full rings a bell.

Looking back to the last Brands Hatch round 5 months ago it's a similar grid, at least for the top six - Turkington, SEAT, SEAT, Vauxhall, Vauxhall, Jackson - ok so slightly shuffled.

Times are roughly similar to last time - Turkington is 0.1s quicker. Goes to show how much progress Kerry has made - he's 1.5s up on last time.

I had an almighty "Doh" moment yesterday.

I have been *****ing for months that I don't get Motors TV (as we can't get Sky because of reception issues) so we have to make do with cable.

I only realised we receive Setanta Sports for free, erm, yesterday, so in fact, I could have been watching live coverage for the whole season...

It's on ITV now, must be delayed but massive accident involving many cars on the opening lap of Race 1 - Jackson got on the green stuff on the outside of Paddock, spun, got collected by Neal who then got punted up the back and a few other cars got involved with little space for them to go anywhere. Five / six / seven cars involved?

That was a big smash... must be gutting for those guys taken out of the weekend; one little mistkae by Jackson and chaos follows.

I was only expecting the touring cars to be on ITV4 but they're about to show the FRenault race from earlier today as well. I'd prefer the SEATs, but beggars can't be choosers...

11, say BTCC.net. 8 didn't take the restart. Neal hit Jackson, then Pinkney slammed into the back of Neal. Neal and Pinkney were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

Just thinking, when was the last time a BTCC race was red flagged ? I'm thinking Brands Hatch, October 2001, when the heavens opened ?

Formula Renault's are also being shown in ITV4 now.
