Unlucky Oriol
As Muzza predicted, Oriol was having a good race and was almost in the top 5 when his car broke down....
I feel that the car didn't break as much when Townsend drove it. Then again, Townsend crashed himself (or with help) out. |

Actually, I believe the car ran out of gas.

The car ran out of "fuel".

Thats what I heard too; out of gas. Dixon's had a bit of an unlucky streak of late too, broken driveshaft, broken suspension, broken engine, all whilst in top 5 positions

Townsend never used to have suspension failures, wing breakages or punctures, because he'd alredy destroyed them on the first lap. Servia's much better at keeping the car going and picking up results.

nope. Fuel pressure was the culprit, according to Patrick's post race PR at CART.com. They say there was a gallon of fuel left in the tank.

Great run from Oriol. When he retired, he had the fastest lap of the race. And that move on Franchitti was pretty special.

awesome move on Franchitti. I think Dario was having a few problems, but still very late braking by Oriol. Good to see.

The pass was similar to Montoya on Andretti in the start of the 1999 race.
And remember the start then was repeated and Montoya did it again! |
