Cracking days racing at Lydden, plenty of action throughout the various classes and a win for John McLuskey in the superfinal.
Hope your TT isn't too badly damaged Michael - it looked pretty battered but hopefully it's basically sound. Lawrence Gibson had a problem with the 6R4 in practice and ended up running in McCanns Subaru for the day! Went pretty well but picked up some damage and eventually retired from the supercar final (which also saw the demise of Grant, Tracey, Williams and Carnegie). Superfinal top three were McCluskey, Doran and Briggs. Some good drives from the ten tenthers out there (and some excellent semaphore from Si Horton on the grid ) |

Proctor won the modifieds from Mike Sellar and Dave Ward, 5 modifieds made it into the superfinal. Pat Doran won the supercar A from McCluskey and Terry Briggs, only three cars took the re-start. Julian Godfrey won the stock hatch.

Mike Jordan was battling for the lead in the stockhatch B final but tried a bit too hard in a diminishing gap! The car was "well used" by the end of the day, but I think he enjoyed it. He even helped his son do a quick engine change in his Mini 3rd in their final). I think Bellerby had an engine problem, but I'm not 100% sure. A little confused with the running order in the finals.

From what I heard Bellerby broke something in the engine which was unfixable so was a non starter.
Mannings Puma looked good but ended heat three with the wheels all out of alignment at Chessunts. Proctor was the pick of the super mods, lightening off the line as usual Lap of the day for me was Greer and Howlin doing a complete lap two abreast and greer finally passing just before the line. Great driving by the pair of them hard but fair. that is surely what it is all about. Brilliant day out well done all the 10 10thers |

Good days racing, returned from holiday yesterday especially for it, the weather almost as nice as it was in Hawaii! No Will Gollop sadly, anyone know why? I have plenty of pictures and videos if anyone can host them for me?

Supermodified - Greer Stock Hatch - Heppenstall Minicross - Budd Junior - Simpson I'm really not sure about that last one, there were so many mini races the juniors put on a fantastic show all day, that's probably the best I've ever seen them. |

Bert, you are not the only one. I even went to see the commentator to try and fathom out the running order for the finals, but even he was a bit confused. Especially as to who would be in the superfinal. Originally it was suggested that Carnegie might get in because of his heat times, but that was corrected to the relative times in the respective (MSA) A finals. The other item which some people questioned was why only three cars took the supercar A final re-start. Mark Williams had an engine problem so he pulled off, the others were deemed as being stationary when the red flags were deployed, and thus excluded. Probably a bit harsh for George Tracey and Andy Grant (although Andy's bonnet was detached). Clearly with Dermot's car upside down, albeit very lightly damaged, there was no option but to red flag it. The fast approaching curfew meant there was no time to slot the race in later and thus three cars were left. Tough on the spectators, but I suppose the rules have to take precedence and it did allow five supermodifieds the chance to do some giant killing in the super final.

How did Carnegie manage to get onto his roof? Was contact made or was it all his wrongdoing, which would be strange for Dermot?

(That's the best I can do on the incident - can anyone else add to that or correct if necessary?) |
