Tracy wants a Lola
I was reading the paper at work tonight, and there was an article about PT and Forsythe. Everybody expected a formal announcement weeks ago, but still nothing. Apparently there is a major stumbling block in the negotiations... PT wants the team to switch from Reynards to Lolas.

I think thats being too picky, he's been running in Reynards since '98 or whatever until now, so whats wrong with it? It's won races this year (even if it was by the same driver.... but in the team he's going to) So why does he have such a problem with it???
I would like to see them stay with the Reynards, im a fan of Reynard and Derrick Walker, and would like to see his Reynard program stay alive |

There are question marks over Reynard's future performance, Derrick will have to go all out to sign up some of the new teams, but I think Jerry should stand firm as long as possible, Pat and Tags have done well with the car, and the team know how it works, which could leave them as the only Reynard team in taht position.

Well now that they don't have to pay Jacques, they can afford to run both Lolas and Reynards.
The paper in Toronto today observed that there were little old ladies in Scarborough (a suburb) who drive farther on a Sunday than Jacques does. For a lot less than $20 mil. |

It wouldn't be in the team's best interests to run both chassis, though. It would eliminate any information-sharing between the cars and they would be no farther ahead than a single-car effort. Must be a tough decision for Forsythe. The engineers are quite familiar with the Reynard, as evidenced by the fact that they have one sitting second in the championship. But the sponsors want PT so he may not have a choice.

Come on. Reynards are on a par with Lolas. And they even look better than Lolas!

That is tough...running two different chassis would be almost like running two separate teams. The engineers will have to learn everything about the Lola, and still continue to develop the Reynard...very difficult. They'd definately do better if they could just focus on one chassis.

Let's face it people... PT wants to win a championship. He's also driven both chassis this year and if he says the Lol is better, I'd be inclined to believe him. Paul has said himself that he's only got a few years left in open wheel.. he want to try and take the title.

Actually, what he said was that the chassis was better for him. Something about being front-end happy, better for his style of cornering.

Well, if it's Reynard or crapwagon, I hope he is able to make the decision correctly.

That's what I"d say.... Running two different chassis would only drag the entire team down. And bringing in a Lola would mean a new learning period. That said, the Team Green engies seemed to develop it pretty quickly!
