Brands Hatch Race thoughts
Well, that was the first ever race - and a dominant performance from Brazil. In some ways a bit dull though, the first corner was good and close, but then the top cars just drove away...
Other thoughts? |

well it could have been better , just lack of action and overtaking , you could have just been watching an F1 race

i think the drivers for the sprint race has no reason to take any chances if they want to start the car for the feature race.
perhaps there will be more action in one hour's time. |

The racing was always going to be the acid test, wasn't it? Pretty much everything else is great. I'd imagine drivers were saving their boost button for the main race and that, together with the pit stops, may liven things up a bit.
Piquet is beginning to look a bit special, though. |

Maybe the South African team will wake up and put Alan van der Merwe in the car.

I didnt think the race was that bad, but it could have been a lot better too. A lot of the lack of action IMO comes down to the track, Brands is a fairly narrow circuit and the corners are quite smooth and flowing, not ideal for overtaking opportunites. Im thinking the feature race will be much better.

Race 2 !
Brazil another win, Austrailia 2nd
What was Adam Khan thinking of holding up others when he is a lap behind?? something deffo needs to be done to even out the ability levels DAMM shame GB's engine 'cut' out during the safety car! very impressive from Mexico to 3rd |

Brands - Feature Race thoughts
Well, that was much better. Very close racing, and in part thanks to the pitstops and Safety Cars a nose-to-tail battle for the lead.
Pity that GB ended up breaking down whilst in the lead otherwise Piquet would have had 2 cars to pass, but still a very good race. Good to see everyone involved in the scary shunt at Paddock Hill walked away too, a good test of the strength of these cars. |

Just caught the last race - Reckon A1 will be bigger & better thena F1, and good luck to 'em...
Bit more power than grip, less aero reliance = Good racing Add a few drivers willing to have a go and you have the package that F1 should be... Watch out Bernie, your days at the top of the pile are numbered, I'd say.... |

The feature race was easily the most entertaining, a couple of ballsy overtakes and some hard racing in the middle of the pack. Shame the sprint race was a bit bland.
Aside from my fairly minor critisisms on qualifying, A1 has done enough to make me tune in for the next round. I think as some of the less experienced drivers gain experience the races could turn out to be special. |

How about Jos ? Starting as 25th and finishing 7th isn't quite bad :-) On the negative side, he now has the reputation of being the very first driver to drop out of A1GP ( during the sprintrace). All in all a very interesting race IMHO, pity RTL television here has got so many ad-breaks

a few things they need to sort out. such as timing in quali and getting the marshals to use blue flags when cars 3 laps behind are holding other cars up......the sprint race was rubbish but the long race was better.....it all just seemed a little amateur in place, but it IS to be expected.
they need better drivers throughout the field for it to truely exite though. no amount of push to pass buttons will stop the cream from rising to the top. piquet is a fantasticly good driver but if im being honest i dont think power, kerr etc etc are the best drivers available for each country. very talented but for a 'world cup' of motorsport to have a grid with 2 or 3 first rate drivers, 10 or 12 2nd rate drivers and bunnies. and i cant wait for firman to get into the series and for premat and speed to get their cars sorted out, then it will be even better. not guite f1, irl or gp2 yet but the future is bright. |

Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi
Well done to Brazil who were the class of the field, was a bit dissapointed to see Kerr go out as it would have added to the race up front. But ow well, it helped Australia. And to emphasis Duran's words Khan is "crazy" sometimes i really wondered what he was thinking in the feature race after he really impressed in the sprint race. And hands on head, visor open in a roll over?? I think my helmet would do a better job than my hands protecting my head, his reactions were odd and was lucky to get away un-injured. The championship is about entertainment, and it entertained. |

What happened to michael devaney. He did well in the sprint and could have done better if jani was not in the way.
