British F3 Testing - Croft 17-18 March
Alright, pop-pickers, who's heading on up to Croft tomorrow, who else is going, and who's going to be this week's big surprise after Fauzy and Watts?
You'll all be glad to know that I won't be there, but I'm confidently predicting that Hitech are going to surprise you all.* So, er, keep it here with the, er, F3 massive, as I believe you young people say. *For the sake of maintaining an element of suspense, I won't at this stage say whether they'll be surprisingly fast or surprisingly slow. |

Jokes aside, I'm looking forward to tomorrow's first results. |

Motoracing anoraks unite in extreme pre-season excitement situation on internet discussion board. I'm astounded at my excitement in anticpation of a simple test session at Croft. I'm clearly too cool for school. |

Bit of a treck for me so I'll give it a miss but I'll be keeping a close eye on the times as always! Hoping to see the name of Steven Kane featuring on the timesheets tomorrow, rumours last week were that he could test at Croft, lets hope so!

Dan, Lloyd won't win it in his rookie year much as I would love to see it. The competition is to strong for him to pull that one out of the bag in his rookie year, I do however think we will se him in the top five with the odd podium.
I'm afraid the ADR team just don't have the full packge for Lloyd to optimise this year. |

If Lloyd wins the title this year he should be in a Williams F1 seat in 2005 in my op! As bobie says the competitions far too strong and ADR seem to have lost their way a little from the glory days of 2002. Rookie of the year is a possiblity and I expect to see him end the year at the bottom end of the top 10 in the title race. If he'd gone to Fortec like most expected then perhaps I'd predict slightly higher......

I don't quite know myself ... if there was a bit more time (and money, of course!) available for testing, then I'd say that Alex could get dialled into the car and be in with a chance from the off. However there isn't, but I don't think they'll be too far off come Donington.
I don't think it's a question of trying to mimic the 2002 Robbie Kerr setups, etc, cos things have changed, it seems. Will Davison didn't get to grips with the car for his time at ADR last year. But Will was in his rookie year too, and seems to have gained some experience by the latter part of the year, and is going pretty well now. It depends on how quickly Lloyd and Paul Antony can get the car onto the pace. And more to the point, if it can stay consistently there. Hi Daniel - nice to have some non-partisan input In truth, I don't Alex will be able to start quickly enough to challenge for a championship, but I do hope they can collectively really get it together by mid-season. It's a learning year, and although I'm very impressed with ADR, it is going to take time. We'll see. Hope it's dry at Croft - we need as much dry testing as we can get. I think we'll be competitive in the wet. But we're testing a few things now, and I would be cautiously optimistic that we're getting ever closer. I don't think Oulton was representative for us, much as Alex likes the track - Robbie Kerr was way off at Oulton in 2002 qualifying (qualified 8th and 11th I think) but wasn't always so far off. |

Morning testing times are out:
1 James Rossiter 2 Some bloke called Ernest Viso, apparently 3 Adam Carroll 4 James Rossiter again (guess Fortec are comparing set-ups - noweels? - or is it Steven Kane in disguise???) 5 Will Davison 6 Clivio Piccione 7 Half-Nelson Piquet 8 Alvaro Parente 9 Fairuz Fauzy (ah how the mighty have fallen) 10 Danilo Dirani 11 Karun Chandhok 12 Alex Lloyd 13 Andrew Thompson (top hitech driver - smart!) 14 Will Power 15 James Walker 16 Marko Asmer 17 Ryan Lewis (top schoolboy) 18 Xandhino Negrao (who? Ed) 19 Adam Langley-Khan (s) 20 Barton Mawer (s) 21 Stephen Jelley (s) 22 Vasilije Calasan (s) Top result for both the James Rossiters. Nice one. Also, er, bit of an Opel-dominated day, and the Carlins seem to be nowhere. |
