Aston Martin AMR1
Five cars built in total, only four remain.
AMR1 #01 * Destroyed in pre-season test. This led to AM being fined for not having 2 cars at Suzuka AMR1 #02 * Ran Dijon and Le Mans AMR1 #03 * Ran Le Mans only, retained as a T-car AMR1 #04 * Ran Brands Hatch (4th place), Nurburgring, Donington, and Spa AMR1 #05 * Built with the "Version 2" 6.3L V8 instead of the 6.0L * Ran Donington, Spa, and Mexico Apparently three out of the four remaining cars is still run nowadays. Aston Martin AMR1
Just to add more to this thread, if I remember correctly, the team first used a T-car at Brands, and it appeared to be chassis 2, with yellow sunstrip. The same T-car was used at Donington too, and possibly the Nurburgring.
According to a Protech team member at the Brands Gp C race in Jun 07 there were never more than two cars at any race in 1989 (including T-car), but I do have a note of a T-car being used at Spa, when -05 (18-Dickens/Redman) and -04 (19 - Leslie/Roe) were the race cars. Finally, I saw a car, advertised as 'Chassis 7', on sale circa 1991. I'm sure it was built around a spare tub, and if so, was 'Chassis 6' also built? |

Meanwhile, at Donington, there were in fact three cars present (#03, #04, and #05): http://www.racingsportscars.com/phot...-03-photo.html |
