If it's Red Bull Jordan, then Bernoldi has the gig. And I say good luck to him, as he proved to have some pace against both Jos and HHF. Irvine certainly did not deserve the job.

Yes thats what I have been hearing - the scholarship contracts contain clauses that guarantee test drives with jordan or a team of that level, and withn them being the only ones a company like RB could buy into its a natural marriage, especially with the Ford connection. I am more interested in who will be test driver and 2nd driver in 04 now!

What the hell happened to Benson and hedges! I thought after decreasing their sponsorship this year they had agreed to be title sponsor for 2003?

I also though B and H were pushing for a british driver i.e Irvine.

If it is Bernoldi (and he's my least favourite for the seat) then I expect Fissi to completely destroy him. Then again, he may suprise us. I just hope Jordan get a good solid financial partner that they can work from.

Last year I think Jordan started to loose their image a bit, and it's only their image that seperates them from the rest of the teams.

I don't think that Bernoldi is bad at all. He was damn quick in F3000 if inconsistent and unlucky and he was bloody good in a deteriorating team in F3.

Obvously I want Jordan to stay in F1, but I certainly don't like this idea of Red Bull buying 60% of them using Jordan as a platform for their 'All American' team.

Red Bull as title sponsor would also mean bye bye yellow. I like the yellow! If EJ was going to sell a portion of his team, I think it needs to be to a manufacturer.

Let's not forget Bernoldi (re)passing Schumacher at the Malaysian GP this year! Although I don't see why having Red Bull on board automatically means that Bernoldi gets the seat.

It's better to have Bernoldi in the team than no team at all. At least they don't have to sign the ultrafast star of the Pacific: Yoong. And besides yellow and blue colour scheme will look good on the Jordan cars.

Well, that _should_ put Paul Edwards in the testing position... But since that exposé piece on the Red Bull Driver Search sacrificing America's brightest young racing talents on the altar of corporate self-promotion, it seems pretty unlikely.

EJ is pretty adamant that he is not going to be selling any equity in Jordan to Red Bull, it would be the end of the privateers so we should all hope that he doesnt. Now title sponsor is another thing entirely and I think that would be resondingly welcomed, keeping red bull actively engaged F1 is a very good thing.

I hear that Massa may be in the frame if Red Bull do the deal.

Don't forget he sold 40% to Warburgs in 98.

Didnt eddie irvine have sponsership from Red Bull in his ferrari days. He used to drink out of red bull beakers before the races. maybe there is hope after all that bernoldi wont drive for jordan next year.

Well, if that's the case then if Jordan sold 60% to Red Bull he would hold no share in the team at all and would hold not the slightest bit of power. I think we can rest assured then that that will never happen.

I dont see how - the moneys still good, whatever the furore created by the losers to promote themselves. Nice bit of PR work by them btw... great angle that. but will it work with corporate America?
