2002 ETCC schedule announced

(STCC.se reports)

2002 European Touring Car Championship
21/4 France, Magny Cours
5/5 England, Silverstone
19/5 Tjeckien (dunno the English spelling), Brno
2/6 Spain, Jarama
30/6 Sweden, Anderstorp
14/7 Germany, Oschersleben
4/8 Belgium, Spa-Franchorchamps
22/9 Italy, Pergusa
6/10 England, Donington
20/10 Portugal, Estoril

Personally I think that is one great looking schedule, especially with the additions of Spa-Franchorchamps and Donington. Man, I can't wait!

Rustyfan-

DTM and ETCC both have 10 events. On 9 of 10 weekends they are both racing.

Makes it easier for your STCC not to clash with either one though!

Me too - a lot! After Brands Hatch (the full circuit, obviously), Donington is my favorite UK-track

I don't like Silverstone.. too flat

Btw, did those proposed changes to the track ever get finalized?

Mmm, think there is still some debate about the Italian round... last I heard was Vallelunga, before that Imola before that, Enna-Pergusa...
Think there will be a bit of a stewards enquiry if they really expect us to trog all the way down to Sicily for Enna... and no rounds on the Italian mainland???? With Alfa racing???
Really hope we end up going to Imola else I probably won't bother.

Imola isn't as good as it used to be. Mugello is the best Italian track.

As for the Silverstone plans. They have been dropped.

The pits and paddock complex is staying where it is, they will knock the current ones down and rebuild them. Seems the track layout will stay as it is, which means Bridge won't disappear

Ok, too bad - didn't the plans include a fast sweeping banked turn? That would've been awesome, adding a bit of flair to the otherwise rather dull Silverstone (sorry if I offend anyone, but I just don't like flat tracks..)
