Craftsman Trucks thread
First: this series is excellent. great racing
2nd: Some rubbbing, Less Aero and more Short tracks 3rd: A pplace where they all begin- stars and cars, Dodge, Toyota came here to enter Cup so why doesn't Truck series get respect? NASCAR doesn't promote it on Broadcast TV like boring Busch series- a smaller scale dull fest of Cup anyway. why don't we hear of Truck excellence bringing great races and points battles like lasty years with Gaughn and Musgrave... and what a race and finish. Biffle, Mcmurray, Harvick, busch all were in trucks first now Cup! gaughn skipped busch all together and jumped into Cup this year. why have busch series anyway- that sponsor money couls be used everywhere else. and past champs get no respect either its a shame for hornaday really, and sprague they are awsome in trucks, why would that not transfer to CUp? is it cars, is it aero (even if the trucks' bumper' is sticking out slanted forward wayyy too much) or did the teams give them second rate stuff and focus on other things thinking the Truck guys would only screw it up by banging around ? they get no respect-in fact it is never mentioned that Biffle was in truck or harvick anymore McMurray isn't talked about either, do you suppose Cup is afraid of Trucks taking thunder away from Busch (a chump series really- good racing, budgets too big, too many races and if it is a Cup minor league, why put it on broadcast TV? Trucks is far better racing- and visually way cooler) and if Trucks have 4 manufacturers and that Japanese one, wouldn't media want to focus on them to see how it pans out? I bet Trucks are getting much better than nascar ever wnated it to be... |

Indeed, why are manufacturers not pushing Truck series instead of Busch? I mean the car models that are used in Busch are already promoted in Nascar. If I am right trucks are an important model in the US.

The only problem is if the Truck Series becomes popular Brian "Chubby Cheeks" France will probally find a way to screw it up. It seems like they are making a lot of changes to the series to improve it's popularity. They are now running at a lot of the Cup tracks. I'd like to see a more diverse set of tracks on the CTS schedule. Like South Boston returing and a road course or two thrown in. It is still one of the best racing series out there though.

the trucks run at Portland roadcourse don't they? and Sonoma so it isn't unheard of, true enough they should have more road courses and shorter trakcs to make it the unique rumble series.

slow responses here-
toyota is putting up a valiant effort and staying in the top five so it is very interesting indeed for their future. But Ford and chevrolet are back in form.. |
