Round 5: Norisring
Paffett looks strong once again, and occupies the front row along with his team mate Green, who should watch his back. But I hope that Gustl Farfus gives both a good run for their money from 3rd position. Andy Priaulx also seems to be one pace once again with a good 8th place.
On the other hand, Timo Scheider suffered another humiliation yesterday, as he qualified on 21st, which means even behind Susie "I only need to marry a F1 team's shareholder to get a seat as a test driver there" Wolff. The race starts at 1.30 pm middle european time. |

Green always goes well around the Norisring doesn't he? He could be on for the win but it looks good for Paffett either way doesn't it? If he stays out of trouble he'll be on for another big haul of points - it's a big "if" though as one small mistake around there can spell the end of your race.

Bah, the celebrating Norbert Haug makes me wanna puke...
But still a great victory by Green, who I rate higher than Paffett anyway. Maybe he can make one more charge at the championship in the 2nd half of the season. |

Wow, DTM is so boring...
Funny how most of the people that call DTM 'boring' watch other series that are complete pants. All DTM needs are more great circuits like this or the Red Bull Ring. |

I said Green was good around there didn't I? Good result for Coulthard too - that's got to be his best result in the DTM hasn't it? The BMW looks strong again in the hands of Tomczyk and Spengler but has happened to Scheider in the Audi? Actually - what's happened to Audi? Only one Audi in the top ten.

Too bad that Ralf Schumacher stopped because he could win or be a podium. Norisring track is good and i hope more street circuit DTM series in future.

That was an enjoyable race. Good win by Green, Paffett saved his race with an excellent drive to 4th? Thought Tomczyk was dozy leaving a huge gap.
The DTM is a lot better than people give it credit for. However, it needs to use tracks that allow good, close racing; not tracks like BrandsHatch Indy....or make sure it rains... |

Green now has 4 wins at the Norisring! It is good for me as a Brit to see Paffett and Green 1&2 respectively in the championship. Surely Paffett has this championship in reach already? It is good to see BMW on the podium again, but what is happening to Audi?
I read in Autosport that Nissan are considering entrance into the DTM among other championships such as WEC/WRC/WTCC etc. Yet I doubt that DTM is not highest on their list in order of interest. |

Makes more sense Infiniti enters DTM.
Except for the opening laps not seen the race but normally Norisring has some good racing. |

Last year they said that DTM wasn't on their agenda. But they had GT1 back then. Well, I'll until the new Speedweek comes out, because they're usually good at rumours.
I, for one, would welcome a new manufacturer. Especially if it's a manufacturer from abroad. This could help to push the DTM even further. |

What a great race. I was at the track, and when he got out of his car Tomczyck was angry! I thought it was at Green, for the contact in the last corner, But I just saw the TV-show, and he was angry at his team for giving him wrong information on the number of laps still to run. He thought there was another lap to go. What he would have done if he knew it was the last lap is an interesting question. To be fair, it was very difficult to guess if there would be another lap, because Green crossed the line just a few hundreds after the time ran out.
However well Green drove, man of the race is no doubt Gary Paffet. From dead last (well, only Frey was behind him, but she doesn't count anyway IMO) to 4th! Several passes showed real racecraft, smartness and experience. |

The Norisring makes for great racing. Superb drive by Green, great comeback by Paffett and even DC makes top 5. Lots for British DTM fans to be cheerful about !
