Team B & Q Jet York City Racing

I see Peter Cate is Test and Development driver for the above team (couldn't be bothered typing that out!)

He talks about the likeness of the situation to McNish's and Toyota's in F1 - does this mean that Team B & Q.... will be moving up to BTC Touring in 2003 ?

It is John's stated ambition to take the team into the touring class. Not too sure when this will happen, but possibly next season, possibly the one after that ? Who knows... depends on sponsorship and the availability of the correct car.

There was that rumour of those Mercedes last season - I thought that maybe it was John lining it up. Anyway, I reckon this is the last year for Production Class within the BTCC so John will be hoping to move up.

I doubt John will be looking at building and developing his own car, which he would have to have done to run the Mercs. That would take a shed-load of money and lots of experienced staff. He may be daft but he's not completely stupid.

He may be competing in next years 'Indy' cup then. If he does move up to Touring next year, its a safe bet to say he will be using Civic Type R's, but I think John may put in an offer for the Works Vauxhall's.

Good job they aren`t sponsored by Kaliber, that would be a contradiction in terms..
