Yep, great! Makes a change from "Great Railway Journeys of the World".

World of Outlaws! Yeeee harrr! Just need Southern AllStars to complete the full effect.

I'll go an look at the engine in Harry for full effect (since it came out of a dirt car!!)

too bad, but we could make our way South to Swainsboro on May 1st, for my 6 year anniversary and the WoOL Late Model Race there...sure the wife would enjoy that

I made a mistake because it's the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series instead of World of Outlaws.

you are forgiven. i think us across the pond get replayed coverage every once in while. both great series, with great cars and drivers.

maybe we can have a 10-tenths party in Woodstock at Dixie Speedway come October; it's the weekend after PLM and Woodstock is less than an hour from Braselton.

Do these late models use the same 800 bhp engines as sprint cars?
Is there much difference between WoO late models and Lucas Oil late models?

i don't believe there is any difference between the cars in each series. i coud be wrong...

i had the opportunity to speak with a guy from Millen, Georgia, who builds cars for Woods Brothers racing (not to be confused with the Wood Bros of the Cup ranks); they race in both series, for wins and money, not for titles. if i can remember correctly, he stated that they have the choice of small blocks (neighborhood of 380 cubic inches) or crate big blocks (around 500 cubic inches), pushing somewhere between 700-800 BHP, so the engines are similar, but these cars are much lighter than Cup cars.

He also told me that there was a track in South Georgia where they were pushing 170 MPH on dirt! they have since changed the track, to slow the cars. *shucks*
