He's an exciting driver willing to take risks. Some time they pay off, and sometimes it ends his day. F1 needs some excitment right now, don't you think?

"Polls announcement.
As some of you will have become aware polls are no longer available and Ten-Tenths' F1 forum and it has gone down the same route as the parc ferme forum. We took the decision that we wanted to encourage discussion and reasoned debate on the forum and, to this end, polls really do not fit within our plans. Forum hosts and admins can create a poll, however, so if you feel that a poll is vital to your topic then please PM one of the staff and we will consider adding it manually for you." The above was posted in the F1 Forum thread http://tentenths.com/forum/forumdisp...&referrerid=18 This outline the reasons why polls are no longer directly available. In reply to the topic, lets ensure this doesn't become a bash! Personally I like Sato, we need more drivers who are going to go for it and at least try to make a pass. Sure he has had incidents and will have more, he's still learning and has plenty more to learn, but he's the best F1 driver to come out of Japan. He's exciting, with a wild impetuous streak, time will improve that - you can make a fast driver perform more consistently, can you make a slow driver faster? ST |

He may only be at BAR because of his nationality, but you've got to admit that he can be entertaining, at a time when F1 is pretty dull.
I hope he keeps his seat next year. |

To get SOME excitement, we need a bloody miricle, you could always put a caravan on Shumi's car and it MIGHT be fun to watch.

Sato is slow sometimes, he holds the whole field up and so Shumi gets away again and wins.

Sato is an excellent driver.
psycho, you obviously have little knowledge of his career......did you ever watch him in F3? Absolutely brilliant to watch and damn successful to boot. The guys a great reflex driver, quick and willing to have a go. And I say more of that please! He could be a champion after a little maturing. Definitely. |

As a lot of people have noted, Sato has got a lot of raw speed, which can sometimes be cultivated into champ material. We just have to wait and see. Chances are that he will wreck a lot of cars in the process, which is bound to both entertain and spark criticism. I like him.

Sato is definitely the best and only chance (for now though) for a Japanese WDC, i have never seen a Japanese driver with such talent, speed and er.. balls!
I hope he stays as he colours the grid with his never say die way of racing and his kind personality off the track. Oh yeah, i would vote for option B. Last edited by ASCII Man; 28 Aug 2004 at 23:58. |

If i can Paarma Can i use your reply and edit it back to 1991/1992.... Just thinking back to when 'THE MAN' used to throw a few cars off here and there while probing the edge... |

Kimi ain't bad, he just has off races, anyway, who challenged for the title last year, and this year, the McLaren crew are just excited with a new HQ and the only reason Ferrari win is because they have thier own test track.

It s lucky for F1 to have a good Japanese driver(remember NAJAKIMA , NODA , NAKANO , KATAYAMA , TAKAGI...). SATO is perhaps not the future World champion , but he can win some GP , and give to us some fun on the track in a véry sad season.
