RFH #16 Gear box problems
What I have seen
To change the #16 gearbox, the RFH mechanics have removed transversally on the right a sub-set and replaced it by a new one. This sub-set was a large light alloy "cover" with apparently the shifting mechanism, the bearings and the complete set of gears on the shafts. Some time later, D. Perdrix, the head scrutineer, had a long and serious discussion with RFH managers in the pit. And just after, new work on the #16 gear box. My conclusion : this light alloy component, probably seen by RFH as a cover, was for ACO a gear box casing whose change is forbidden. (as it contains bearings, that sounds logical). So RFH had to re-install the original one. Somebody can confirm it ? |

They replaced a part of the gearbox and after intervention of ACO they had to replace it with the original part, otherwise they were DQ.
