2014 Formula One predictions (Time capsule)
Time to look into that crystal ball folks. Have a stab in the dark, or an educated guess. A maximum of ten predictions per forum member please, so make them your best.
This thread will be frozen on Thursday 13th March 2014, a day before the Australian GP, and will be re-opened on the 24th of November 2014, a day after the final GP in Abu Dhabi. Let's see how wrong, or right you are at the end of the season. Here's my stab in the dark for 2014.
If anyone of the Moderators could help with the closing and re-opening of this thread on the said dates, that would be much appreciated. |

Here's the predictions about Ricciardo.
So what would you feel if Ricciardo suddenly won or finished ahead of Vettel in a race? |

1. Hamilton WDC, Rosberg 2nd.
2. Vettel will prove what he can do without the fastest car, but still won't be WDC because of it. 3. Ricciardo will struggle to match Vettel. 4. Kimi and Nando will get a long fine, both winning at least 1 race. 5. By the end of the season Magnussen will be right with, or faster, than Button. 6. Bottas will easily beat Massa, who will leave Williams in 2015. 7. Maldonado and Villenueve will be in the news for negative comments on F1. |

1. Rosberg will win the championship...
2...despite Hamilton being faster and winning more races... 3...and Vettel mounting a late title charge thanks to double points. 4. Kevin Magnussen will win at least one race. 5. Williams will win at least once. 6. Nico Hulkenberg will stand on the podium at least once. 7. People will recognise how good Vettel is when he scores points despite his car. 8. Maldonado and Grosjean will clash on track. 9. The 2015 New Jersey Grand Prix will be dropped and re-instated at least 3 times. 10. Mr Reliable himself Max Chilton makes the most of a race of attrition to bag the first points for a 'new' team. |

If it was a straight battle / result (no mechanical trouble or ill fortune organisationally), I would be delighted for Ricciardo. It would validate him being there over his former team mate.

Here's my predictions about the drivers' and the constructors' home races.
1 - Australia: Ricciardo to score a podium. 2 - Spain: Alonso to win his home race. 3 - Brazil: Massa to win his home race. 4 - Hockenheimring: Vettel to win his home race. 5 - Russia: Kvyat to score points on his home race. 6 - UK: Neither Button or Magnussen will finish in 10th or higher for their constructor's home race, or Hamilton can just win his home race. 7 - Japan: Kobayashi to score points or a podium again. 8 - Austria: Neither Vettel or Ricciardo will finish in 10th or higher for their constructor's home race. 9 - Malaysia: Caterham to finish in 10th or higher. 10 - Italy: Ferrari to finish 3rd or higher for their constructor's home race. |

Really possible. Let's look back in the previous series from 2010 until 2013.
2010: 3 driver changes 2011: 3 driver changes 2012: One driver change caused by Grosjean's one-race ban 2013: One driver change caused by Räikkönen's surgery |

From the predictions posted so far, it looks to be a three horse race for WDC.
