Ganassi makes next year's efforts known
Chip Ganassi, probably in an effort to quell rumors he moight desert CART, has made it clear that Target-Ganassi Racing will be present in both CART and the IRL. The only driver currently secure in his seat is Kenny Brack. Both Memo Gidley and Bruno Junqueiria are both fighting for the remaining CART seat. No driver has been named for the IRL seat(s), but Ganassi is keen to give NASCAR ace Tony Stewart a ride for Indy as well as put him in his Winston Cup car.

Anotehr team committing to the IRL is not a great confidence boost for CART, even though there will probably be 2 CART entries. Tony Stewart I'd love to see race at Indy again, the guy is a cut above the current drivers even without regular open-wheel drivig, and with his severe claustrophobia which causes him to hate the HANS device. But his scedule of doing the Indy 500 and any clashing NASCAR race on the same day is superb. Last season he did 1100 miles at an average of maybe 170mph! Memo I hope gets a top-line drive for next year, preferably in the #12 car. Got no particular preferences as to the IRL line-up.

Ganassi hasn't committed to a full IRL schedule. He is entering the Indy 500 and is "considering one or two other IRL events." It wouldn't surprise me to see Tony Stewart in a Ganassi car at Indy, but I believe that Chip Ganassi has signed Jimmy Spencer to take the Winston Cup seat currently held by Jason Leffler. Sterling Marlin will also be returning with Ganassi.

Brack is definatly in for Indy, he said it was one of the reasons he signed wih Chip. Stewart i reckon is a shoe-in for the second seat, he did a great job this year, 6th at Indy and 3rd in the World 600. I don't think we will find Stewart at Gannasi in the Winston Cup, he has a great relationship with Bobby Labonte and the whole team at Joe Gibbs.
