Sounds good, graphics good
Physics appalling, slide or dopnt slide its your choice And as usual the difficulty parameteres have ne bearing on how quickly you actually go, a perfact run on the harder settings still equals an 8th place finish! Genius playability guys, make the challenges harder, not the timing out! Arcade3 game wise though it is polished, well thought out and has some great slants on the events Though its pretty much the same format as others |

Handling is FARRR better, you can tell they have added those 3 extra contact points

Vastly superior to Dirt with far better physics.
It is an arcade game, but you can drive it like a real car, unlike Dirt or Grid. Now I just need to find out what the unlockable cars are, I heard the Doran RS200 Evo is in there. |

It's a game that seems to try to be both half-sim and drift. I couldn't seem to ever power through a corner, always had the ass end slide out all the way to the edge of the track no matter what line I tried, but could still win in all but the highest difficulty. I love the in-race replay, sometimes you just have to see what just happened from another angle, and the rewind feature is really arcadey but can be good sometimes if you really want to try something, or like I had to a few times, when you try a pass and the AI decides it wants to take you out. Usually not an in-car camera driver but it's the only way to go for the demo, seems like the chase view makes the car drift and dart with any slight inputs. Not too bad a game, but for the price not sure I wouldn't rather wait another week for NFS or another month for Forza 3.
Anybody know anything about a NFS Shift demo coming online? |

Can't wait till September 8th for this! The demo was loads of fun. I can tell not exactly the uhh...most realistic racer of all time but its consistently challenging and fun.

The rallycross feature looks very impressive, they way that they have modeled the cars is very good with the whole blanking off of all lights, lots of air intakes, rear radiators and the 3 rear lights positioned behind the rear glass is very cool. Shame there are no "real world" tracks.

I believe the demo Eclipse uses a 6R4 engine sample, or at least something very similar, and it sounds amazing.

Bought Dirt 2 last night and thought it good. Once I earned the MKII escort then really got into it. Very good graphics and game play. MKII handling is excellent and the stages that are tribute to Colin are a hoot. Luckily have never bent my MKII round a tree! Note to self dont play the game then go out in the escort LOL.
Well worth the money a good fun racing game in my humble opinion. The only thing I miss from the first game is Croft and Knockhill wish they were still there. |

Having been on the receiving end of some abuse on the Codemasters forum concerning my views on the new Rallycross format, I'll try to put my point across clearly here! I do not have a problem with having huuuuuge jumps in an event, but please save them for the X-Games rounds (of which there are three) as a special "treat". Those of you who own the game will probably know that I'm talking about the Marina Air track in Los Angeles, and to a lesser extent the Japanese track; and while they're great fun to drive and very rewarding races to win, they're not really what I'd call Rallycross events. In terms of presentation, it's a game which is very much aimed at anyone who owns DC Shoes, but the graphics and overall gameplay more than make up for any of its shortcomings. Quote:
