Just watched this on Motors TV and it didn't look good.
Best wishes to Mike, one of the nicest racing drivers in the paddock. Our prayers are with him for a full recovery. Shelagh & Bill (marshals) |

I feared this was the case when I saw how hard his car hit the wall.
Further indication of the side-impact risk in touring cars. All thoughts to Mike and his family - lets hope for a speedy and full recovery. |

For those who missed it...from Plato's words, he suffered a drive shaft failure or similar coming out of the final corner and lost speed, with Thompson, Ferrier & Jordan right behind him.
Jordan clearly ducked out to avoid a collision with Plato but lost the rear and span off, collecting the rear of Plato and continued into the wall on the main straight Thompson also collected Plato putting both Seat's out - and the race was red flagged after 4-5 laps behind the safety car, then restarted as a 14 lap sprint. Hoping also for a full recovery for Mike. |

Wow, I hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.
I saw the hit on TV and it didn't look "spectacular" at all. Just goes to prove that the car doesn't need to be split in half to be a serious accident. |

The wall he hit had no tyres on it, so he went full wack into the concrete wall. Horrible crash in unfortunate circumstances, no one was to blame for the smash.
I wish Mike a full and speedy recovery. |

Tim Harvey's just given an update - Mike is groggy and has some broken ribs, but generally in good spirits and is watching this final race from his bed

Cars are disposable. Drivers aren't - if needs be the cars get cut up to get the driver out so I'd imagine the shell is a scrapper. Best wishes to Mike for a full and swift recovery.

To be fair, this incident was not a result of "dirty driving".
