Visit to Prodrive

What a cracking evening. when you drive past the site on the M40 you dont realise just how big it is and how many different things they're involved in.
The lady giving us the tour was a real 'Petrol head' and all the better for it. When we were looking at a Subaru gearbox in a workshop next to the engine bay, she was getting really excited by the Aston Le Mans engine that was running loudly a few feet away.
Rally cars aren't really my thing and I thought the 'new' mini was particularly ugly but it was still fascinating to see the amount of work that went into prepping it. Curious though that the engines come from BMW Motorsport.

All in all a cracking 2 and a half hours and grateful thanks to Dave Richards for letting us in.

Yes, thanks to Dave Richards AND to Bob Sketchley for arranging everything.

These evenings are amazing privileges - Martin Brundle one evening, Prodrive trip the next.

Shame it's a night at home today

I had an e-mail from the British Computer Society (I'm a member) a while back offering a visit to ProDrive. Clicked on the link to discover it was already fully subscribed. Shame!
