Allmendinger/Speed/Hornish/Ambrose take the first 2 rows.
Is there some reason for the unusual (and that's an understatement) qual results? I reckon this might be one worth staying up for. |

Where are the Montoya fans - today could be the day... Ambrose being conservative as always - 75 laps gone!

they should swap notes - JPM is too mental, Amrose too chilled.
Interesting to hear the commentators give their reason for road racers doing well here - the track has what you would almost call hills (don't know how much of that was usual Fox hyperbole). Really want to see a new boy do the job today. |

Phoenix is one of my favorite tracks, but they have made this race too long... as a matter of fact, they're all too long.

Hmmm, thrilling finish. Kyle will be spewing, had the race if there wasnt the late caution with 3 laps to go - lottery after that if you go 2 or 4 tires. I wonder why someone in P15 didnt stay out & risk a win/good finish on old tires

Good result for Montoya and Ambrose (they need it)
Junior finally found the right buttons? He's 10th in the standings. |

A top five for JPM which no doubt precedes another dismal run of events with random problems. No doubt next week his car will develop cancer or something.

my PIR wrap up is as follows:
out of the 375 laps, there was only about 75 laps of actual racing. could be wrong as I was in and out of consciousness the rest of the time. it was just too exciting i did notice more inconsistencies with NASCAR's caution waving; nothing new to see here. as with John Paul Montana, Mark Martin got a much needed Top 5 finish as well. I look for Steve Addington to keep the #5 away from the #42 just in case it is contagious. |
