Er, well, it's in Ireland - the only permanant race circuit over there I believe. It was going to be on the calendar last year, but couldn't be brought up to scratch in time. It should be on this year though, if they get FIA approval, which I understand they have.

It looks rather good though, and not unlike this:-

Tarzan 1 and 2 - what are they like out there?

I see we will have to pack ropes and grappling hooks to get up the trees!

On a serious note - any idea which track they'll be on?

Don't diss my home circuit Les!!!!!!!! Only kidding the anmes are pathetic. They will be racing on the full 2.25 mile International circuit. To answer the original question, Mondello Park was opened in 1969 and so far is Eire's only permanent circuit. Many of the greats raced here in the EFDA days including the late great Ayrton Senna. I rang about ticket prices for 16/17 June and they haven't decided yet. Typical of us Irish we are so laid back we are almost horizontal. To anyone who is making the journey over, I will see you there as I am going to shout on the ABG boys in that sexy black IS200

I think I need to chat to you. There are a little group of us coming over to your native land and I, for one, have never ever been to Ireland before.

Do you mind if I pm you with a couple of questions?

We are over for the week and I thought a little local knowledge goes a long way.

Can I have suggestions for places to go - picturesque, not necessarily historic.

and I've heard that the Irish don't cater in pubs like over here - is this right Will we have problems getting a meal in the evenings?

Lorna to your request you can definitely ask me questions but the only problem is that I will be in the Netherlands til Saturday so I won't be able to respond till then.
Les a lot of pubs serve meals up to a certain time but I am not from near Mondello so I would not be 100% sure also the best bets for places of scenic interest and places to stay is to check out www.bordfailte.ie
Will talk to you guys soon. By the way, I will only be able to go tot Mondello on the Sunday cos I have to work on Saturday.

I hope we can look forward to meeting you. BTW - link didn't work. Will PM you but don't worry about immediate response. As long as it is before Mondello, that will be spot on. Thanks dcr22B
