I didn't know about Jos' contract buyout. Should be good for Minardi. Everything else is covered in a thread lower down the page.

Still no news from Arrows , so this story is'nt true.
And like Jos said in his interview with RTL5 this week:"there is no buy out option in my contract" |

Surely a buy-out wouldn't be mentioned in a contract?

Tha fact that the Arrows-site doesnt mention anything, doesn't mean this isn't true. Unless you badly want this not to be true.
Even if there the buyout-option isnt explicitly mentioned in a contract, that doesnt mean a contract can not be sold. Apperantly Stoddard is interested in Jos and Arrows is interested in getting rid of him in favour of Frentzen. So a deal can be easily made. A matter of demand and offer. |

Ah...
Another rumour is that Heinz himself is going to buy-out Jos' contract, but personally I think it is more likely that Minardi will buy him out. |

.....and as Heinz knows, contracts don't seem to be worth the paper that they are written on.

Yeap, but, if buyout is not an option in the contract, than the driver is not obliged to go to drive for whoever buys out his contract - he can simply collect his fee, and leave. |
