Driver changes:
Marciello back to Trident, Canamasas moves to Rapax and Cecotto left without a seat. Albon fit again and replaces Sirotkin. |

Leclerc on pole by 3 tenths from the impressive Camara. Fuoco much stronger than recently. Rowland 5th.

Whilst Latifi continues where he left off at Baku - on the podium and outshining Rowland.

Another lap and Latifi would have caught him though, that was some pace that came from the DAMS cars. Fuoco finally doing what he's paid to do. In fact if Latifi didn't have to fight with his team mates a few times and then pass Fuoco, he probably would have caught Leclerc. But Leclerc perhaps didn't show his absolute pace in that race.
It's going to be good race 2 with Markelov and Boschung on the front row. Marciello definitely hasn't stepped back into race mode the same way Sirotkin did a week ago. Last and fastest lap over a second slower than anyone else. So funny watching Gelael push Crashamasas off track, then does the same to Deletraz who then also pushes Canamasas onto the grass! It's like Gelael just shuts his eyes and hopes for the best and the stewards do nothing about him clearly just pushing another driver off track (moreso with Deletraz). Possibly no one cares when it happens to Canamasas though, it's just a bit of mid-pack humour watching him wave his arms around. Speaking of Deletraz, gosh he was actually going well for a while. Then King got back past him and he seemed to lose all his focus and speed, again. Camara as well, what the heck happened to his qualifying pace? |

meanwhile i waiting news on a few FIA checks due to cars overtaking under either the real SC (came out at start of race due to start line shunt) or the VSC which came for the championship leader

Normal service within what time frame?
Over the past 3 rounds, Latifi has scored 20 more points than Rowland (65 compared to 45). He also isn't bending the rules of racecraft. I'm getting less and less convinced by Rowland. |

Chunt, i don't think anybody is suggesting that, more surprise that Rowland isn't wiping the floor with him ala Leclerc - Fuoco, whatever way you look at it, as a whole, it has to be slightly tarnishing his image/reputation/prospects a little.

I will reserve judgement on Rowland until the end of the season. Whilst no-one is going to challenge Leclerc on a regular basis he must secure 2nd in the points over Markelov and Latifi. Clearly his race performance are not matching his qualy or outright pace so we have to wonder why he is not able to do that. |
