FIM Winners Game - Autumn Cup 2009

2009 AUTUMN CUP!

Thought I'd get us a new thread started.

RULES (Copied from Schummy's Version):

----------------------------------------------

Object of the game:
You have to guess the winner. You can put one, two, three or four riders as winners.

Scoring:
If you put one rider and he wins, you get 4 points.
If you put two two riders and one of them wins, you get 3 points.
In case you put 3 names and one wins, you get 2.5 points.
If you choose to put four names, and one of them wins, you get 2 points.
If you fail to guess the winner, you get 0 points.

Time limit:
Guesses can be done until one hour before the official time for the star of the first race (125, 250 or MotoGP, whatever it is). Usually it will be one hour before 125 race. Even if the race is delayed because unusual circumstances, the time limit will not be changed.

Remarks:
Every FIM GP three guesses can be entered: for 125cc, 250cc and MotoGP. Those are three different games, so you can enter only one or two categories if you like.

Apart from the three classifications (125, 250 and MotoGP), I'll put a "global" classification adding all of them.

The key of the game is to predict the winner putting the least possible numbers of candidates. But if you put too few riders, you risk getting 0 points!

There will be two separate championships: Summer Cup until mid season and Autumn Cup in the second part of the season.

In case of tie, it is ahead who has better score in the last round, then in the second last round, etc. If there is still a tie in "Total" category, it is ahead who has more points in MotoGP, then in 250cc. Finally, if all of that fails, it is ahead who has guess earlier in the last round (and here there are not further possible ties!).

Example:

Let's suppose you put the following guesses and the real winners are Aggarawanda, Poggiali and Gibernau:
125 = Angel Nieto, Aggarawanda, marcus (you get 2.5 points for Aggarawanda)
250 = Kocinsky, Phil Read (you get 0 point, you failed)
MotoGP = Gibernau, Agostini (you get 3 points for Gibernau)

(Note: excuse moi for that example. It's just a joke: I put Poggiali as winner)

If you need to change your guess, please post another one (don't edit). Remember the limit is one hour before the scheduled start of the first race (125cc in this case), any further edit after it will un-habilitate the post.

Unspoken rule (yet often spoken): Bribery is encouraged and expected.

Oh, yesss, he is californian... Good call, I had not thought about it. Maybe smoking or drinking things is the key to guess those mad races.

Flower power!

First round and the usual gang seems to float again at the top of the tables. In fact the correlation between points and (under the table) money is so high that I'm tempted of putting dollars instead points in the classifications.

jhansen again has won, perphaps by using a double diffuser, or perhaps because of californian "substances".

Please, look as gomick, David and marcus pretended they guessed seriously; come on, we know it was a good and nice joke . It was funny, but now in the next round please come back to normal procedure.
Code:
GBR 125 250 MGP = TOT
=========================
jhansen 3 2.5 0 = 5.5
Tazz 2.5 2.5 0 = 5
Schummy 2.5 2.5 0 = 5
BOTTY 2.5 2 0 = 4.5
bestfit 3 0 0 = 3
Dani 3 0 0 = 3
gomick 0 0 0 = 0
David 0 0 0 = 0
marcus 0 0 0 = 0
=========================
Code:
125cc:
jhansen 3
bestfit 3
Dani 3
Tazz 2.5
Schummy 2.5
BOTTY 2.5

250cc:
jhansen 2.5
Tazz 2.5
Schummy 2.5
BOTTY 2
Code:
MotoGP:
NOBODY!!

Total:
jhansen 5.5
Tazz 5
Schummy 5
BOTTY 4.5
bestfit 3
Dani 3
Now a not-well deserved vacation until next race. It's sad when you have several weeks without money input (that iPhone GS will have to wait).

I'll say it again: you are one of the more promising players here. . Right choices, right timing, everything. May St. Gates be with you.

And, of course, you are not short of money.

All of our tips were pretty good, it's just Rossi who screwed up. The amateur.
