Moto GP, Round 11 - Brno
After a short summer break we are back at it with three races in close succession. The first of which is Brno. A great circuit, but it hasn't provided any barn burners in the 800 era. Casey Stoner is on a three race sabatical, which puts Fiat Yamaha as clear favorites. Although Pedrosa could figure into this one as well. Mika Kallio has joined the factory team in Stoner's absence, and Michel Fabrizio will be racing with Pramac.

I actually forgot that there was a GP on this weekend and decided to watch it on the red button tonight. The only trouble was that when I put it on I saw the winners on the rostrum, and then the highlights in about a couple of minutes.
And I recon that that's the best way to see it |

the Kallio crash looked scarey, with him on top of the other bike,, wheel spinning under his hands..was afraid he was going to be injured by the rear wheel or by getting his hands arms caught up in the bike, not a nice place to be for sure..
personally I think the other guy put his bike in a spot where Kallio couldnt very well not be, especially given the great speed diff between teh two--for me that really shows that he stuffed it in there in a way that may be fine for the BTCC (tin tops) but not on two wheels, he was damn lucky neither of them got injured. |

I thought Melandri had made a great pass - I think Kallio's brain turned off!

250 was quite good ..
MotoGP was a time trial for 15 laps . both Fiat Yamaha doing amazing laptimes and just when it was time to spice things up ... Rossi laser sight does Jorge's front |

I'd disagree that the MotoGP race was boring, at least before Lorenzo went down. The front three were running at a close pace and did swap places a couple of times. The championship's effectively over now though - Lorenzo has no real hope of clawing 50 points back on Rossi.
Kallio needs the races to be 2 laps shorter - that's 3 times he's lost decent results in the closing laps. Melandri took a chance with that move, and simply expected Mika to give him more space, where Mika perhaps didn't realise Melandri was stuffing it down the inside so late. |

I was disappointed, that Kallio did not throw a clothesline to Melandri.

Is it me, or is Lorenzo becoming Rossi's new Biaggi?

They are testing today. Repsol Honda are trying out Ohlins components.

It's a conspiracy!
As for testing, nothing new really. The Fiat boys were at the top followed by Pedrosa. |

It's all over but the shouting: Rossi will end up with the championship, unless someone shoots him. Clearly the best rider in the field, with the best bike. Jorge isn't going to beat him, and if he continues to try, will probably get extensive hospital time. If you watched the race with the inserts, you could see where Rossi was getting on the gas, even when behind Jorge, before him. If he can do that, Jorge is never going to beat him.
Biaggi, Stoner, et al have learned how good he is. Jorge is in training for the same lesson. Art |
