The Jordan/Vodafone court case
Couple of snippets from the current Jordan/Vodafone spat. Jordan are not exactly off to a flying with Ian Phillips (Jordan Director) allegedly 'mis-leading' sponsor B&H earlier this year, along with not being able to remember how may championship points they scored...
http://www.pitpass.com/news2/news.cfm?newsid=6460 and http://www.autosport.com/newsitem.asp?id=23504&s=54 This is interesting, Vodafone's QC produced a letter from EJ offering full title sponsorship to Orange, one month after he claimed to have secured a verbal agreement for sponsorship from Vodafone..... |

this is all a bit sad now really... At the end of the day EJ has only gone to court now because he is desperate for cash to keep his team in business...

Did he really believe he could overcome a giant like Vodafone?

I dont think the point is to overcome, but to possibly make some extra needed cash out of it?? I would if I was in his position.

That letter would also have been disclosed ages ago and Jordan will know all about it. |

How come Jordan are dropping this? did the Ferrari bullying finally work or has Eddie done a deal?

Some deal has been done, you can be sure of that. Don't know if we'll ever find out what it is though.
Most likely it is related to the fighting fund. It was being blocked by this case and so I'm sure some arangement was made for Jordan to drop the case and be somewhat 'rewarded'. |

Here is a brief bit, but with the Judge awarding costs against EJ and refusing to keep his judgement confidential,it seems that EJ may not have had the case he thought......We should no more on Monday. |

Now maybe Eddie will get back to the job at hand & try to at least get his cars to the middle of the field.

Sadly, I think dreams of midfield seems to be a thing of hte past for EJ. I think he can now only hope to finish ahead of Minardi and maybe BAR if the Honda keeps breaking.

Looks like EJ has been caught out here with his tricks. Costs against him do you think? Would serve them right.

F1 doesn't need this.A few months ago we had a judge describing another former team owner's integrity in very scathing terms and this seems more of the same
