Le Mans 2012 entries .
http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/artic...g-lm24-effort/
Dyson Racing is aiming to use their 2 automatic entries to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2012. Because the Lola B09/86 is no longer allowed to run at Le Mans, it is likely that Dyson will switch to the Lola B12/60 (evolution of the B10/60), Looks like we will finally see Dyson do the big event as a team . Level 5 say their entering only 1 chassis for the event . |

Taking a leaf out of Badger's book here is my hopeful LMP1 list:
1 Peugeot Sport Total 2 Peugeot Sport Total 3 Total Peugeot Sport 4 Audi Sport Team Joest 5 Audi Sport Team Joest 6 Audi Sport North America 7 Toyota Motorsport 8 Toyota Motorsport (I'm a believer) 9 HPD-Honda ARX.... 10 Strakka Racing 11 Pescarolo Racing 12 Rebellion Racing 13 Rebellion Racing 14 OAK Racing 15 OAK Racing 16 Dyson Mazda 17 Dyson Mazda (Oryx) 18 Muscle Milk Racing This is a bit of a fantasy list at this stage. It gives us 1 more LMP1 car than this year and it doesn't factor in any possible leftfield entries like a Hope Racing or random surprise stuff (hello Dome). Pesca is very up in the air but I think he'll pull something together last minute. If Dyson were going to make the trip I'd like to see them come full force. Part of me thinks they'll get enough funding for one car. BUT I also believe that Muscle Milk will join them with a potentially exciting HPD entry. As for Toyota. I'd love an all-Japanese second car to log some miles with a kind of 'Racing for Japan' type message. MAKE IT HAPPEN. |

Im seriously pleased to see that Dyson might be there . I always said he would be this year , with the wedge from Oryx .
Anyway , would be brilliant to see Dyson at Le mans , just a shame he didnt do it with the R&S !!! |

Audi won Le Mans this year so don't they get #'s 1, 2, 3?

No, #1 (and #2 and #3 by extension) for the whole WEC (including Le Mans) goes to the constructors' champion in the ILMC for 2011 (which is Peugeot). So by that assumption Audi should be going back to 7-8-9, as the others can pick their numbers.

I wasn't trying too hard to get the numbers right but I believe if you came second in a championship you should take the next set of available numbers - as per the other FIA championships. Will be interesting to see what they run.

The WEC press release only mentioned the mandatory #1 for the champion constructor, nothing else. I suspect the others will proceed as before in terms of car numbers. We'll see in February or so when the entry lists are released though.

Doesn't Reinhold Joest have some kind of #7 fetish? Rightly so, of course, winning back-to-back in the New Man Porsche #7. If they have some kind of choice, I think they'll stick with 7, 8, 9.

I suppose the ideal scenario is someone like Nissan coming in with an LMP1 engine and choosing Henri to run it with some additional money for chassis work like Rebellion. |

I think Henri is going to need a big sponsor/partner before he moves on from that old (but still beautiful) car........

He may run one of the currant Oak versions in P1 ?
Level 5 have confirmed an entry . The rumour of Manthey Racing being drafted in , smells like Porsche are expecting to have to push the hell out that car next year , should add for some sparks . |

Revise your lists, the big teams will be allowed/running four cars... assuming they do this... there may not be any room for at large entries.

If that is correct that can only indicate that the ACO is scared that there may be less quality enterance this year but from what i see the top LMP class would appear to be quite full so why would they want 4 exactly the same cars unless they know something we do not

4 cars for the big teams would only make sense if we had room for 65-70 cars. Since the car count stops at 56... I'm not too happy if both of them enter 4 cars, under normal circumstances that means that everyone else would be fighting for 9th or worse.

But 4 entries would be total madness for the sole reason Victor just mentioned, ie total bullsh*t. Only blind diehard fans of Audi and Peugeot would support this policy |

Where does it actually say teams will enter four cars apart from the Audi rumour?

Wouldn't it be nice to have a top 10 filled with just Audis and Peugeots (plus maybe lone Toyota somewhere before Nakajima crashes out)... no thanks |
