Rockingham BSB - farce
Why is Rockingham such a disaster of a circuit! Apparently half the BSB program tomorrow is cancelled and only the 600s and Superbikes will run.
Why? Because Rockingham laid new white lines down on Thursday night, and they are too slippery for the bikes to go within a foot of. Friday free practice saw several incidents within the first 5 minutes of practice, then the rest of the day was cancelled whilst they burned off all the lines from the circuit. Funniest sight of the weekend was a truck dragging rows of roped-together tyres over the white lines in a vain attempt to de-slippy them by laying down rubber....haha! They were still doing that today, leaving not enough qualifying time for all the classes. Due to TV commitments, the Superbikes must go ahead, so they are the only races on Sunday along with a couple of the supersport classes. Riders are up in arms and Dunlop are furious that they've lost £££££££ in tyre sales. Is this the final nail in the coffin for Rockingham?? |

Doubt whether they could have left it without the lines as they are required for safety reasons by the license issuer so rockingham would have had to get an exemption from them. i suspect that the circuit employed an outside contractor to do the job so you can't hold them totally to blame for the drying/curing problems. the british weather has certainly got it in for this circuit and it's due for a break.

What a **** circuit, It always has been a bit of a car park and most of the riders hate it, White lines are the love of the Rockingham track what with the "you can't ride over the white line rule" I say keep to the four wheelers Rockingham.

I didn't think bikes should have gone there in the first place. Why not ditch it and go to Croft instead?
