In the Williams race club magazine it claims that people in the UK can subscribe to Digital F1 coverage from the continent you just need to tune in your satellite dish.
So I'm off to go and try to subscribe to some foreign channel. The 6 different camera's just sound's too tempting |

Could someone clarify this? Is it legal?
I read on on another thread somewhere, someone claiming they could get it in UK,but it had cost him £800 in equipment. |

It was really nice of Williams to put this info in their magazine with out telling us how you actually go about getting it.
They did say that Canal plus was one of the staions which broadcast it but their site is just in French |

It would be Billy, they are a French station! only legally available,so far as I an aware in France.Premier World does the same in Germany. You would need a dish pointed at the right satellite, which is NOT Astra 2A used by Sky.So your regular Sky minidish will be useless.

Thanks Rob I am aware it is a French station I just thought they might have an option to view their site in English it is supposed to be the "world wide web ".
Anyway it is all beginning to look a lot more difficult than they made it sound. Premier World broadcast on Astra 1A-1H in digital and analogue as do Canal plus. Which is the position of Sky analogue which I still have, but to view Premier World in analogue I need an Mpeg 2 decoder which I don't have plus it isn't going to be multi-camera on the old analogue is it. So I need a Digital receiver pointing at Astra 1A-1H at 19.2°E (Which my analogue dish is )not Astra 2A/2B/2D at 28.2°E which is where my digital dish is currently pointing. There is a number of ways of going about this, but I think the best option is to get a Satellite receiver card (and a TV card if you haven't got one ) for the P.C. and connect the dish to it then it can do the decoding for you . (P.s. there are ways of getting round the subscription if you do it this way ) Or as in my case I just need an LNB capable of receiving digital on my old analogue dish and hooking it up. £800 sounds like an hell of a lot of money it sounds as if he as just gone to a Satellite dealer and paid the price. Can anybody offer any other help or advice ? |
