Moto GP Round 3 - Dreaming About a Lorenzo vs. Pedrosa Cat Fight

Wow, it seems like it has only been four days since the last race in Japan. Oh wait, it WAS only four days ago. You gotta love back to back race weekends! Although the boys must be feelin it after the return to Europe. So we had Stoner domination in Race 1 with Lorenzo stepping it up in Race 2. Rossi managed to finish second both times. Jerez sees us back at a track that everyone knows well. And Rossi says the title race is "interesting" with four riders in with a shout. Let's hope the race action is as good as it was in Japan.

Simoncelli showed in Japan that he was suffering no ill effects. And the 125's were absolutely brilliant. Gosh that two stroke racing sucks. It makes you wonder why we've kept them around so long...

Rossi from Capirossi, Stoner, Lorenzo, Dovi and Edwards. About a second covers the top six. Pedrosa didn't have a good start and is back in tenth. But come on Nicky, 17th, seriously? You're 1.65 seconds off Stoner. I didn't think you'd be a front runner on the duc, but I thought you'd do better than Melandri! Speaking of Melandri, he was 9th.

Smith goes quickest in 125 while Bautista tops 250. Question, are the 125 and 250 classes only running one session on Friday?

From the oh no he didn't just say that file, Rossi was asked if he'd repeat the move he pulled on Gibernau in 2005 on Lorenzo. The answer..."yes." And Lorenzo and Gibernau were sitting along side him.

After Motegi, I think Rossi might be trying to undo Lorenzo a bit.

Rossi looked regal out there. Elias and De Puniet looked about an inch away from an awful accident!

Here's to a Rossi whitewash.

Three Spaniards on pole in all three classes. Lorenzo, Debon and Simon. I bet things are exciting on the streets of Jerez!

Possibly I am not being creative, but I see Iannone and Simoncelli as the bosses in 125cc and 250cc, let's see how they pass the Spanish Test (and the Armada Attack).

I think after Spain and France we will see who are going to be title contenders and who are not. Usually at the 25% point of the season you get an approximate picture. (Statistically speaking, about 50% of the final positions are predicted in the first quartile of the season)

In MotoGP, Rossi is the natural boss, but I can see Lorenzo oozes talent, who knows if this is going to be the pivotal year for those two. Of course there is Stoner... as menacing a rider as you can ever see. Then enters the dark Pedrosa with his even darker mentor Puig.

I love this times in MotoGP (but I loved the age of the immortals in 500cc).

I went to Catalunya in 2002 for the GP and it was amazing, the crowd was down to 98,000 because Spain were playing in the soccer world cup on the same day, but the atmosphere was fantastic. I can only imagine what it would be like leading up to tomorrows races with three locals on pole and so many Spaniards capable of a win.
