rush1 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
If Hass runs in the IRL

rumors are floating aroung that toyota might provide IRL engines to Hass in exchange for letting little Christiano out of his contract. Lets say Hass fields two cars in the IRL (pure speculation of cource), who would be the drivers? Kenny Brack or Schekter might be possibilities.

ahhhh first ive heard of this and its an interesting one , if and its a big if Newman Haas came to the IRL then of course it would be fantastic but I really dont see them doing that at all , I think they will stay in CART but ive been proven wrong before

ok but if they did who would they have as drivers ????

no Idea , we know Fittipaldi is off to Nascar and Da Matta is a chance at F1 and to be honest I think Da Matta will either be in F1 or CART next year , so that leaves the doors wide open if they come for 2 brand new drivers to the team.

would be good to see someone like Sarah Fisher or Alex barron hook up with such a great team or maybe Kenny Brack but who knows we shall just have to wait and see

Now I know this is pure speculation, but isn't Toyota thinking of getting into NASCAR? And with that thought in mind, aside from the da matta F1 issue, isn't Carl Haas also a NASCAR team owner who would be running Toyota engines in the IRL(speculation once again). Same goes for Penske. Toyota factory teams all the way around. Just can't see a Camry running around Daytona with a restrictor plate.

According to Haas, it's 50/50 on DaMatta going to Toyota for next year. Although most sources around them seem to be saying it is a done deal. Apparely part of that deal invovles engines and cash for Carl Haas to run 1 or 2 cars in the IRL. They will still run cars in Cart, but it might be 2 or 3. And it's pretty certain Junquiera will be one of his drivers in Cart.

da Matta said it was "more like 20%". i would like to see da Matta in either CART or IRL, he would be wasted in F1. unless he was in a ferrari, he would show that germany guy what a REAL driver could do....

I think Da Matta would be much more wasted in the IRL than in F1. He's a road racer, and has said he'd rather go back to Brazil and race his bike than drive in the IRL. Toyota's getting better all the time, and I think he could show he's a capable driver in F1. Honestly, I don't really care either way. If he goes to F1, he'll open up a seat in Cart that someone else can take.

Disagree (with DownFOrce). You're not "wasted" by not winning in F1. Otherwise there'd be only one guy who wasn't wasted. I'm sure daMatta has given everything much thought. Probably lost sleep over it. Obviously he won't win a championship in his rookie year with Toyota, a scenario quite likely to repeat itself if he stayed in CART. It's a big decision Cristiano (might) have to make. If it were me? I'd give CART all the PR that I could, send them a thank-you note, and give it a go. Afterall, F1 is the pinnacle. Don't burn any bridges, even try to build a couple.

Ferrari will continue to win 90% of the races. Only two other teams have a shot at winning a race. Guess who those are? It will be tough to race for an also-ran, but Toyota has close to 830hp in its first year of compeition and Gustav Brunner can create a great car. IMO the fight for 4th place in the constructors championship is always the most exciting.

CDM will be driving the Toyota next year. Haas will be winning Indy with his free engines when he cherry picks it. That was the deal.

So, the deal is Haas runs in CART + Indy with Toyota engines in exchange for da Matta?
