Moreno's "Farewell Tour" ?
Gotta love this forum...
Otherwise I'd have never come across this thread... http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...threadid=45601 "Former F1 racing driver Roberto Moreno is setting his sights on moving to Australia and switching to V8 Supercars." Thanks to blaarg for the insight. It's kinda like a three-sided coin... Heads: Moreno's got what it takes, but he was the #2 driver. Tails: Moreno's got what it takes, but bad luck did him in. Bodies: Moreno lost alot of his skills in the course of one year. Personally, I'd hate to lose Roberto, but people can't do this job forever. If what CART needs is personalities, then Moreno's the man! (Remember his Cleveland victory?) But this season hasn't been too forgiving, and thus the "three-sided-coin". |

well Im kinda divided here , I am a massive Moreno fan and love watching him in openwheelers but to have him leave would be bad for his international fans but as im here in V8 land he would be even closer to me
I for one would love for this to happen as I would then have the chance to finally meet Roberto and thank him for all the great memories he has given me over the years. |

People dont forget Roberto made his F1 debut in 1982 - he's had a good crack at the whip. For me personally he was one of the best drivers of the mid 80s.

If he does decide to come to Australia he will have a good following as he's always enjoyed huge popularity over here.

Moreno will always be one of my favourites. I don't care if he's racing lawnmowers, I'd still support him in whatever he does.
Moreno joining the V8 Supercars and moving to Australia would be a bonus for Australians and the series itself. |

Moreno's a great guy for CART, but I think it's probably time he moves on. Is anyone here NOT a Moreno fan? Thing is, he doesn't have the speed consistantly. He's definately had some bad luck and he's had some good performances, but it is better to leave with dignity.
