Ludvig Hunsbedt to sell his Ford Focus

Ludvig Hunsbedt is trying to sell his European division 1 spec Ford Focus. This could be an great opportunity for a British driver to buy a top top car:

the car is for sale for 125,000 Euros - bargain. same price as evans micra!.(nearly)

http://www.rallycross.de/sales/hunsbedtfocus.html

I wonder what he will be driving next year? mmmmm

Marko Jokinens spare peugeot 206 is also now for sale (works peugeot sweden machine) . there are plenty of cars out the for british drivers now!

Is Hunsbedt retiring or is he changing cars??? I hope he's staying in the sport because he's the most flamboyant driver i've seen since Schanche. Would be a great buy for a British driver, but do the British drivers know that it's for sale?? Will it be advertised in this country??? Maybe that's why these cars aren't getting snapped up by the Brits.
Problem is its another Focus...yawn,yawn!! Is the reason why everybody decided to build a Focus (except Gollop) because they could carry over readily available, well developed Cosworth YB motors??? Because at the end of the day the Focus is not an ideal shape for a racing car!! 206's, Xsara's etc and even Escorts look much better poised and balanced on the track. When does the homologation run out for the Cosworth YB because that was the main reason Gollop built a Focus Zetec, so when the YB was banned he had a ready developed engine to sell to customers...and there's a lot of them!

I'd heard the same thing about the Cosworth YB - the homologation runs out fairly soon (next year?) so there's going to be a lot of demand for the Zetecs which is why Gollop went for the newer engine (as you say there are a lot of potential customers out there).

He will be changing cars. he has a big three year deal with Castrol to sponsor him and has promised the title by 2005. Ludvig was orginally building a Toyota Corolla in 2000 before he abondoned the plans to go with Focus. Sverre Isachsen has his orginal machine. Ludvig is really cheesed off with the 2003 season and the Focus seems to be struggling in relation to hansen, pailler and eklund (Citroen, Peugeot and Saab), so he needs to change to compete with them. The car has spent most of the year in England with people from M sport fixing some startline computer problems (which happeend at Croft GP last year). I am not sure when the homologation runs out, but maybe it has been extended as in the rules (FIA article 279) it now states "an engine homologated or previously homologated" which now possibly means an extended life for the Cosworth.

At the minute it is only advertised on rallycross online. Maybe Gb drivers will have to look there to see it. Maybe one problem is the difficulty to get there hands on the WRC upgrade kit from M sport, which is why he see no life left in the car. Jernberg will probably be another who will ditch the Focus at the end of this year for a new one.

Due to this and the focus on the 2004 season hunsbedt wont race in this years British Rallycross Grand Prix

Forgive me if I am wrong, but wasn't Gollop originally supposed to biuld Hunsbects Toyota. I am sure he got a way through it aswell before Ludvig decided to go elsewhere.
Talking of Toyota I remember talking to Tony Bell at Pembrey in 2000, and I'll tell you what that thing had so much TTE stuff on it. I hate to think how much he spent on that car.
Also, who was the Hungarian guy running a Corolla last year in Castrol colours, looked pretty nice.
PLease Pat, don't run a Focus or a SEAT, not powerful enough. Get a Saab and beat all those Foci over here!!

Yeap Gollop was supposed to be the one building hunsbedts corolla. I guess Oplands Mitsubishi became his priority as Gollops had his mechanics running opland in the european championship. I know Gollop had the Corolla shell delivered and that work had started on it. I think the relationship with Opland put Hunsbedt off.

The Corolla you see in the picture is of hungarian driver Tamas Revesz. Tommi is a very good driver and also races in the Rally championship in Europe. He hasnt raced in the European rallycross series this year as he has concentrated on the national hungarian rallycross championship which he is leading in the Toyota. The car has been fully rebuilt and is now in a red colour scheme:

Maybe we will see in him do the full erc in 2004.

Ludvig confirmed this morning that if he builds a new car then it will be based on a Ford Focus. A couple of things have to be sorted out first.

Ludvig is a dirty driver as he rammed my mans car on last years Rallycross GP at Croft last year so my mate gave him a helping hand in the next race.

Ludvig is trys harder than any driver in rallycross. To many of them are not prepared to overtake - at least Ludvig gives it a go.
