Mgcc @ Brands Hatch
The MG Car Club wish to extend an invitation to all Marshals to attend their annual visit to Brands Hatch on Saturday 25th. and Sunday 26th. September. There will be free admission for all of you, but there is a catch, we need you to practice your Marshalling talents through out both days.
I know many of you have already volunteered to me, but we could do with a few more Marshals of all persuasions. There will be morning practice and afternoon racing on BOTH days, so if you can only make one of the days, you will still get a full race programme. If you want good racing, full grids, lunch break, sensible finish time, a token of the Club's gratitude, and very good company, come and join us. You can get in touch with me by pm or volunteer on our web site, www.mgcc.co.uk and click on Marshals, then click on the 2004 volunteering tab. Alternatively the local Brands Hatch contact is Peter Scillitoe, who will be at Brands Hatch this coming weekend. I will post the timetable in a few days time to inform you of the programme. In the mean time I look forward to hearing from you. Best regards, John Watson - MG Car Club Chief Marshal PS Please Mr. Green, as this request for help is for dates before the other growing list of 'Hot Topics' can we join them. |

You wish has been granted!!!
Let me add my plea to you all to support the MGCC if at all possible. Their meetings are always bolstered by good grids and some excellent racing, not to mention the great family atmosphere that prevails. So, if you are at a loose end that weekend, pop along and have a fun filled day with great racing. Stephen. |

John, Can I please go in the pitlane again for this one? I promise not to bring any pork pies!! Andrew would no doubt like a post that won't get wiped out by something from the MG Cup!

Hmmm let me think, we could put Andrew on post 4A and use him for target practice or, we could be kind and pop him somewhere like post 6 for a rest?

Think post 6 was where he was last year - and look what the MG Cup boys did! How many marshal's posts got together to clear that one up? 7?

Look, here guy's I read this thread as well so be careful about how you talk about me.
Yes Mik that’s the incident their on about I do appear in one picture but not telling which one or where. Any way I think I was on post 5 (Druid in) and all I saw was the floor pan of the car mid roll. Any as people are asking for posts, John can I have a quiet one like 2 or 3 as nothing ever happens at those post's. I'll bring my own pork pies to make it is a really quiet post, if John can arrange for Jeff Blocksom to be around as well that’s it all sorted. Last edited by Andrew Palmer; 17 Sep 2004 at 13:26. |

Last time SRB went to Brands with the MG car Club, she was an "Incident" Marshal, and she lived up to the title! This year she is, by request, in the "Pits", so please no more interference as we want to see how she lives up to this job!
Am I right in believing that SRB has fallen over in several other places as well, and not necessarily within Motorsport? |

It's an age-old expression that us grown-ups in grovel mode use, a variant is 'with a flake on top'. Knee wasn't too keen on me clambering over tyre walls just yet, but should be good for a day or two of pitlane activity.

To any BLMRA 12 Hour Veterans, The MG Boys will be out in force at Brands Hatch this weekend.
I'll be out in "05" in the MG Metro Cup race (and for Andrew Palmers information, it is going quicker than at Silverstone!) and Matt will be out with our Dad in the Pit Stop race on Saturday and the 40 minute enduro on Sunday in the grey Maestro. "Penelope Pitstop" should be there in his Maestro for the 40 minute thrash as well! Look forward to seeing you all at some stage. Don't forget to give us wave! |

Sorry John I am racing on Sunday so won't be able to marshall.
So you all don't think I am driving like an old man when the Owen Maestro comes past, Mines only a 1.6 it still has full trim including seats and I have to drive it home. Mike #4 MG Maestro (thats one in front of Stuart) MGCC Enduro Race |

Tickets arrived, which is odd 'cos I can't remember saying that I was able to go. Certainly can't do sunday (I'm elsewhere). Saturday is a maybe depending on other (no motorsport) things. Maybe won't know for certain before Friday.
