rubinhothebest should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
accelerator

Hi, i've got a doubt and i like you to help me. Reciently, i've heard that accelerator have only 1 or2 cm of movemenet, depending on the driver's likes.
Is this really true?, because it would be more logical that accelerators had more movement in order to have more control on the throttle.
Regards

THR has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
i think some drivers like little movement.
so yea its true.

things to take into account are:
a longer movement will take longer to floor.
a shorter movement will affect the amount of throttle more when going over bumps and your foot jumping about a bit (F1 esp)

Barrichello was complaining after the canadian GP and his problem (where he spun) was caused partly by a sensor failing and giving him very short pedal movement.
so when he jumped on the gas to try and power around montoya crashing in front of him, he jumped on it to hard and just went into a spin.
basically he had on or off gas.
not good!

so early fly by wire system had a sort of dual switch system. Not the right term but i will try to explain. The throttle had a progressive analogue signal but if the driver stamped on th egas the signal to the ECU would be registered as if he flicked a switch. This measured the rate of change and pre-empted the rest, every now and again it went wrong but with TC it should still work now.
