Hello,
as a great fan especially of Alfa Romeo Touring Cars, I'm very interested in British Motorsport too. There will be a comeback of Alfa this year in BTCC with the new 147 (JS), so I would like to ask Alfa fans here in this forum, if there is a possibility to obtain (or to exchange)photos in coming race-season. I live in Germany and with some friends we run our own website called http://www.alfisti.net which is specialised on everthing about our Italian favourite. Ciao |

Welcome Portello!
Unfortunately i dont have any photos myself, but i know lots of people on this forum do-im sure they will be more than happy to exchange or post some photos of the red Italian cars. Also try http://www.redshoesracing.com in their archive photo section. Enjoy 2001 with Alfa involved! |

I'm always looking for more photos, so could you pass on any you get to me please (preferably 1024x768, but I don;t mind, any size).
Would you like some of David Auger's Alfa Super Tourer 145? |

thank you very much for your reply. I'm looking for quality- pictures of the new 147 in actual (new regulation)BTCC-configuration. Maybe it`s a little bit too early for that, but we can stay in contact ! I could offer photos of the old DTM/ITC for exchange. By the way, we (alfisti.net) are officially registered by Fiat/Alfa Press -Germany. I 'm occupied with motorsport-events, but we all do it just for fun !! |

Don't expect I'll get to see the Touring spec Alfa until the end of next month. JS had their Production spec car testing at Donington today. Just need to finish the film and I should have pictures ready next week

On the subject of JS has anyone heard when their touring car will turn a wheel? will it be a no show?

Would have asked but the team had the shutters closed for most of the day. Judging by the amount of time spent in the garage and the relatively few laps I'd say all was not well. On the bright side though the 147 looked fantastic.
When I spoke to John Shields at the start of the year was expecting the car to be ready by end of Jan. We know Peugeot are having problems with official suppliers so it makes sence that other teams are having the same problems. |

I hope JS don't crumble, as many people have predicted.

Is that Donington? How long are JS testing there? Are we allowed to pop along and have a look?

Btw, is that the Production model or the Touring model? It looks like the Production-if so, who's driving it? Can anybody help? The situation regarding drivers/classes etc. at JS is intriging.

Yes it was Donington, see previous post. It was a general test day that JSM happened to be at rather than specifically a BTCC test. A few of the 10-10ths regulars went along to see RickP's new V6 Clio, Paul Lomax in the 172 Clio and server-admin blokey Chris Y in his Mighty Mini. See the Donington and (bizzarely) the Mallory 31st Jan threads in the Trackside forum for more pics and gossip.
Definately the Production car, or at least a production shell (who knows what was under the skin). Based on the times it was doing it had to be production mechanicals. Didn't get a close up of who was driving but the helmet looks like Simon Harrison. |

Thanks, redshoes. I wonder what is actually going on at JSM. From what i've heard, they've got both Production cars ready, but no drivers signed up for the Production assault. However, they have all but confirmed their driver line-up in the BTCT (Macci, Wright, Reddick, Harrison) but haven't yet finished a BTCT car-and it looks some time away. I have a feeling they might only end up running two cars in the BTCP and a couple in the BTCT, not the four they anticipated. ????????????

I like the side on shot of the Alfa Shoes. Was that taken at Redgate?

Sure was. The circuit gate next to Redgate Lodge was open so we just wandered up to the marshal's post
