FIA GT Finale - Zolder - 23, 24, 25 Oct.
Next weekend it will be the last race of the FIA GT Championship under these rules and in a combined format, at least in the foreseeable future.
Entry List Schedule GT1Live.tv FIA GT3, Belgian GT, and Belgian Touring Cars are support races for this weekend. It appears FIA GT3 and Belgian GT will actually be sharing the track for this event, simply to make room on the schedule since FIA GT3 wasn't scheduled to be here originally? |

FIA GT entry list looks good. K plus K return with two cars, Nissan returns as well but the Matech Ford wont be making an appearance. GT2 also has a surprise addition, second Trackspeed Porsche. Antonio Garcia also replaces Niarchos in the CRS Ferrari.
FIA GT3 on the other hand is a bit odd. Only 25 cars on the FIA's list, but 17 on the Belgian GT list. I assume some of the FIA GT3 loses are due to the carnage at Paul Ricard, but some other teams seem to be splitting amongst the series: Prospeed and Phoenix are both running one car in FIA GT3 and one car in Belgian GT. The only major addition is the Team Rhino's Leipert Ascari from ADAC GT on the FIA GT3 list, which marks the only appearance by an Ascari all season! FIA GT3 entry Belgian GT entry |

And Sean Edwards in the #61 is an error as he is doing German Carrera Cup that weekend.

Let's see who will be Jörg's teammate. If it's Sugden or even Lietz, the Trackspeed car will set the #50 under lots of pressure.

And Porsche could take it to the WMSC, and/or blacklist Ratel (or any affiliated organization) indefinitely. I bet Ferrari loses interest if they have nobody to fight, and thus Porsche succeeds at decimating GT2 on that side of the pond. Let's face it, not even Ferrari has been as consistent as Porsche in providing customer equipment, so snubbing them too hard WILL have severe consequences.
Corvette does NOT have the qunatity of factory drivers to fill enough cars to combat 8-12 top-line Ferraris in FIA GT2, AND another 4-6 in LMS. So they can't be counted on to take up the fight on their own. The BMWs aren't legal in Europe, apparently, and the Vertigo seems to be no more. That last one being unfortunate as it was just homologated for GT2 and certainly was showing to have a good chassis at least (bested all the GT2s in the wet at Bucharest two years ago). The Astons haven't shown consistently, and AMR is concentrated on LMP1 at present. And I don't see any of the other GT2s heading abroad either: Riley Corvette, Doran Ford GT, Panoz Esperante GTLM, etc. Last edited by Purist; 19 Oct 2009 at 03:51. |

Does anyone know with how much extra weight the Maserati of Bartels and Corvette of Hezemans/Kumpen will have to drive?

Great to see KplusK back with both cars. Anybody know what's happened to the second Full Speed car (#13)? I can't even remember the last time that showed up. Lack of suitably budgeted drivers, I'm guessing...

Well gee, this thread's getting ugly already. I don't blame you guys, since the whole SRO organization is very shady, and may very well have favoritism.

The SRO didn't do anything to the Porsches, the FIA did.

Concur. The whole 'FIA hates Porsche' thing is a little tinfoil hat anyway. Before the 4peat by AF Corse (Ferrari factory team), there was a 3peat by Freisinger Motorsport (Porsche factory team) followed by a championship for GruppeM (Porsche factory team). Food for thought.
