Chinese Grand Prix future venue?
This may all be speculation, but I found it an interesting read. The main story: Chinese GP to move to Beijing street circuit post 2010?

Here's a pic of it for those who can't be bothered to fumble around Google Earth. Length is around 5km but don't deem it exact due to my dodgy tracing. Looks a bit karty in places.

It looks very bland indeed! Four straights with four 90 degree corners and plenty of run off area......oh,and somewhere for a helicopter to land.

Right now, I can't see any pictures, but now that Marbot mentions it, I don't think I'd wanna see.

I think this is the same track that Marcello Lotti (boss of the WTCC) went to see, it's a possible replacement for their race in Macau because they are having some problems with the organisers.

I hope this is not the same Bejing Street Circuit that they tried to use for A1GP.

No it isn't the same track as Beijing A1, this isn't really a street circuit. It's a park type circuit.

I'd rather have the Chinese GP move to Macau than to Bejing. The Chineses' much-debated governmental power would clearly be enough to widen the street circuit at Macau ...
Apart from that, the Shanghai Autodrome is my least preferred Tilkedrome, but I guess that's just personal taste. |

Remember that Macau is an SAR of China - Macau is practically a separate country and largely runs itself.

the access road looks very narrow and I don't see runoff...
This rumour looks like an example of 2 + 2 = 5. |

To be honest it is no worse than some of the circuits they currently race on. Maybe a little long at 5km for today's pack-em-in mentality (RIP Hockenhiem)...
