Nurburgring
Last night on windtunnel(speed)a caller asked David Hobbs if F1 could race on the full Nurburgring.

I wonder if sportscars could run the old track. I know GT and touring cars can race their fine.

I doubt it that the current drivers can complete one full lap at the Ring without making a single mistake.

Yeah i know, but i meant big mistakes like running off, stuffing it in a barrier and such.

I think that's harsh - it's not the drivers fault that F1 has lost some of its best tracks. I imagine Michael, Kimi and Juan would be pretty impressive if they could switch off the 'safety' mode.
In a fantasy world, I'd love to see F1 (and Sportscars) back at the 'Ring, but in reality it's far too dangerous. There have been several deaths there over the last few years in relatively slow race cars. |

Circuit is too narrow and too rough.
F1 cars would fall apart trying to lap there today. |

Yeah, totally out of the question. Much of the track is only metres from the barriers, and there is no way F1 suspension these days could take it.
