Same Old Story - Another Bayliss Double

Bayliss has increased his points lead over Edwards to 39 points after taking out both races at the EuroSpeedway in Germany on Sunday night. However, the amazing fact is that Edwards has finished on the podium in 13 of 14 races and it would only take one slip up by Troy for the championship to be wide open yet again.

Quote:
Race One
1 1 Troy Bayliss AUS Ducati 40'06.073
2 2 Colin Edwards USA Honda 40'06.724 0.651
3 11 Ruben Xaus ESP Ducati 40'25.039 18.966
4 41 Noriyuki Haga JPN Aprilia 40'29.555 23.482
5 155 Ben Bostrom USA Ducati 40'33.893 27.820
6 7 Pierfrancesco Chili ITA Ducati 40'41.715 35.642
7 52 James Toseland GBR Ducati 40'46.587 40.514
8 10 Gregorio Lavilla ESP Suzuki 40'53.169 47.096
9 99 Steve Martin AUS Ducati 40'53.600 47.527
10 19 Lucio Pedercini ITA Ducati 41'15.525 1'09.452
Troy Bayliss took his 10th victory of the season in the first race at EuroSpeedway, but not without a strong fight from Colin Edwards. The two fought it out almost the entire race, before Troy found that extra bit of speed to pass around 3 laps from the end to take victory.

Xaus took a strong third place, but 18 seconds behind while Haga and Bostrom also looked impressive.

Neil Hodgson, currently third overall, failed to finish after he fell on the second lap and had to retire later in the race.

2 2 Colin Edwards USA Honda 40'11.283 1.650
3 11 Ruben Xaus ESP Ducati 40'14.698 5.065
4 155 Ben Bostrom USA Ducati 40'23.596 13.963
5 41 Noriyuki Haga JPN Aprilia 40'29.665 20.032
6 7 Pierfrancesco Chili ITA Ducati 40'38.599 28.966
7 52 James Toseland GBR Ducati 40'41.013 31.380
8 100 Neil Hodgson GBR Ducati 40'47.976 38.343
9 9 Chris Walker GBR Kawasaki 41'03.885 54.252
10 19 Lucio Pedercini ITA Ducati 41'12.154 1'02.521
Bayliss took his 11th victory of the season with another thrilling and mature ride, but not without a challenge from team-mate Xaus, who had the audacity to pass his team-mate midway through the race. However, normality was restored and Bayliss basically cruised to victory.

Edwards took another second place, but it appears there is nothing he can do to stop Bayliss unless the Australian strikes major trouble.

Bostrom and Haga swapped positions from the first race while Chris Walker managed to get a Kawasaki into the top 10 in a good ride.

That wasn't meant to be a thumbs down in the forum. It was meant to be a thumbs up!!!

Agree with you, gomick, about Pitt. He's been strong all season yet again. A pity Suzuki and Kawasaki cannot perform like that in the WSB

thats true, hopefully suzuki sign up shaun giles and run 2 gsx-r 1000's next year. it will be gile's 3rd year on that bike, and presuming he wins the australian title - i reckon suzuki should reward him with a wsb ride
