Qualifying's a wash...Tags starts on pole!
So, with quali washed out, they'll use the last practice times, thus this will be the grid for the race:
1 A. Tagliani 33 Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone 20.882 2 P. Carpentier 32 Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone 21.208 3 M. Haberfeld 34 Ford-Cosworth/Reynard/Bridgestone 21.313 4 P. Tracy 3 Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone 21.320 174.259 5 M. Jourdain Jr. 9 Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone 21.325 6 D. Manning 15 Ford-Cosworth/Reynard/Bridgestone 21.338 7 O. Servia 20 Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone 21.390 173.689 8 B. Junqueira 1 Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone 21.430 9 M. Dominguez 55 Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone 21.432 10 S. Bourdais 2 Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone 21.479 11 T. Monteiro 7 Ford-Cosworth/Reynard/Bridgestone 21.621 12 A. Fernandez 51 Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone 21.640 13 R. Lavin 5 Ford-Cosworth/Reynard/Bridgestone 21.743 14 R. Moreno 4 Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone 21.856 15 P. Lemarie 27 Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone 21.977 16 R. Hunter-Reay 31X Ford-Cosworth/Reynard/Bridgestone 21.993 17 J. Vasser 12 Ford-Cosworth/Reynard/Bridgestone 22.090 18 G. Salles 11 Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone 22.363 166.132 19 J. Camathias 19 Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone 23.380 Great to see Tags on pole, hopefully he can make the most of it. Bourdais isn't looking like a front runner this week, but never know if he can get a right setup. Dissapointing to see Jimmy start so far down after quite a strong weekend otherwise... Luckily, it's not supposed to raing tomorrow, so it should be a great race! |

I hope that Tags can win, I want to see 5-6 different winners this season. Dominguez is solidly placed to continue his run of podiums. Lavin is higher than usual, also, While ASTJ and Dale Coyne are really struggling.

Wouldn't the grid be the combined times from all three practice sessions?

Didn't they use championship points in the old days?

Rather strange, being a night race, why couldn't they run qualifying in the morning?

Lavin and Manning are still impressing on the ovals. Tags really seems to be on top for as well. It's clearer now that either the COyne cars are hopeless in setup, Gualter is no better than the previous guys even with his experience, or that Yoong is better than some of us have said.

I thought Tags was much more enthusiastic about his team than he has been in the past; perhaps he is finally beginning to be comfortable there.
After Mr. Vasser's comments on Wind Tunnel last night (ending with "they're not crapwagons!") I am glad to see him starting from the back and hope he stays there. But you never can tell with an oval. |

Unfortunately, those times above are not the qualifying grid, the last link I posted has it. And Vasser will be starting 6th.

I still think Jimmy will win. I didn't see Wind Tunnel last night, what did he say? Something pro-IRL?

Yes. In charity I must add that he's probably looking for any kind of ride in case ASTJ goes bankrupt which seems to be likely. But "They're not crapwagons -- they're definitely not crapwagons!" is still a bit OTT.

Liz, your anti IRL stance is too hardened. Why can't you be a more accepting person? Jimmy is not a rat, and you know that.
