The second of three races on three consecutive weekends, what do you think of this track?

OK, not as good as the O'Ring, but at least has some overtaking points and still has a nice scenic location

It's half of the O'ring!
I'm hopeful that this race will be somewhat better than the last three. |

According to this, http://www.racingcircuits.info/europ...l#.WzY_CriWki5, ''work was undertaken in 2016 for the possible re-instatement of the full long course.'', though nothing has been announced.

I remember hearing about that, wasn’t that for the WEC they were planning that?

However, it’s a great place to watch a GP. The “new” circuit is alright, the location is great, the views from the grandstands are brilliant and Austria is a great country to visit. Every year it is back there I curse myself for not going again. |

Seems the kerbs on the exit on the last but one corner are acting as a deterrent to going wide, which is what we need

Another Mercedes front row shutout, with Bottas on pole and Lewis second. Vettel and Räikkönen are 3rd and 4th. Neither Vettel or Lewis looked that comfortable. Verstappen 5th and Grosjean 6th. Ricciardo was off the boil and is 7th.

Some knives being thrown at each other down at the Red Bull garage. Not a happy camp at the moment. What was agreed to and what actually happened on track is not very clear at the moment.
Multi-333, or was it supposed to be Multi-... 333?? Oh, I can see the problem now. |

Vettel gets a three place grid penalty. I'm not a Vettel fanboy but reading this article, it seems somewhat unfair.

Another stupid penalty that serves only to make them look as if they are unaware of the impact these penalties have on image of F1

Sets a very dangerous precedent penalizing drivers so late after the session - anyone can go through the footage, make a compilation of all the penalties FIA didn't hand out and proceed to make a mockery of any semblance of consitancy the series had.

The same thing has happened in NFL. The fans whinge that it’s not fair and demand consistency so the governing body then extends the reviews and has more of them to make it fair. Then it ruins the flow of the game/race weekend and the fans lose any ability to move on and just get over it.
If the fans can accept that maybe somethings can go the wrong way or even that each situation isn’t exactly the same then we’d be better off. But it is an outrage! |

To be fair, it was announced that the incident was under investigation right after it happened; everyone was aware of the situation. Ultimately it didn't affect Sainz's qualifying so I can see why some mightn't like the penalty. It's hard for me to see how the penalty isn't justified though.
