Antrodemus should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
2009 V8Supercar Fantasy Championship: Rules

The 2009 edition of the V8 Supercar Fantasy Championship kicks off at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide in just under a months time in what is expected to be an exciting clash of new talent against wily championship veterans in the race for the Pete55 Memorial Trophy.

Entering its seventh year on Network Ten-Tenths, this series can guarantee close racing, dodgy officiating, and heated rivalries. The 2009 V8 Supercar Fantasy Championship Series is upon us. Gentlemen (and Gentlewomen),
Start.
Your.
Engines!

1. Drivers

You can hire up to 4 drivers to drive your cars, provided that their combined salary comes in below the $2,000,000 Salary Cap.
Here is how much they cost:

Jamie Whincup
Mark Winterbottom

$1,400,000
Craig Lowndes
Garth Tander

$1,200,000
James Courtney
Will Davison
Rick Kelly
Steven Richards

$1,000,000
Lee Holdsworth
Russell Ingall
Steven Johnson
Todd Kelly

$800,000
Jason Bright
Fabian Coulthard
Greg Murphy
Jason Richards
Shane van Gisbergen

$600,000
Jason Bargwanna
Michael Caruso
Alex Davison
Paul Dumbrell
Cameron McConville
Steve Owen

$400,000
Tony d’Alberto
Marcus Marshall
Michael Patrizi

Other Drivers
If anyone else not listed above drives in one of the non-enduro rounds, they will be valued at $200,000.

Endurance Drivers
Specialist enduro drivers will be available for Phillip Island and Bathurst. More info below.

2. Hiring & Firing

As Team Owner/Manager, you are permitted to sack any or all of your drivers in the lead-up to a round, and replace them - so long as you don’t blow the salary cap or 4-driver limit.

To sack/hire someone, post in the Driver Changes thread expressing your disappointment in your ex-employee(s), and your hopes for your new driver(s). You will only be charged a driver change if your team is different at the next round, so there is scope to change your mind if need be. The deadline for making changes is the start of first practise.
However, you can only do this twice during the season.

Endurance Drivers
If you wish, you may use one of your two allocated driver changes to hire some of the one-hit-wonders that appear for Phillip Island and Bathurst. Your driver lineup, including enduro specialists, must still fit inside the $2M, 4-driver limits. You will automatically revert to your normal driver lineup after Bathurst, should you choose this option. Note that you do not have to pair up your drivers.

The price list for enduro drivers will be released once we know who they are (sometime after Queensland). As an added incentive, the once-a-year brigade come with generously discounted price tags

So to sum things up:
- You can change your driver lineup twice during the regular single-driver rounds;
or
- You can change your driver lineup once during the regular single-driver rounds and also employ enduro drivers for Phillip Island and/or Bathurst;
or
- You can exercise your right not to use either driver change if you don't want to.

3. Points:

Points are the same as the real series. Whatever a driver scores at each round in real life is what that driver will receive here, including penalties. Your worst round will not be dropped. You will not receive $200 for passing 'Go'.
If you notice that your team hasn't scored as many points as you think they should have (or more than they should have ), there are a couple of likely reasons for this:
1) My maths stinks;
2) I missed your driver change;
3) I've only just realised one of your drivers got penalised somewhere along the line.
Either way, let me know and I'll fix your score so its 100% correct.

4. Other Things You Should Know As Team Owner:

- One team per person, per year.
- You don’t have to use all $2.5 million, but DO NOT GO OVER BUDGET!!! You will be suitably punished (ie. disqualified from the round) if I discover any creative bookkeeping.
- A driver can be chosen by more than one team - these guys are consummate professionals and are able to drive 63 cars simultaneously.
- Points are the same as the real series. If things don't seem to add up, feel free to point out my mathematical ineptitude.
- Round results and championship standings will be posted here following the conclusion of each round.
- After the results have been posted, you can report on your team’s performance (or lack thereof). Show us how good you are at distributing propaganda.

5. Team Announcements:

Once you’ve picked your driving line-up, give your team a name, announce some sponsors, racing numbers, liveries, grid girls/guys, mascots, overseas technical partners and any other stuff you can think of, and of course your manufacturer of choice, then post here giving a detailed description of the copious quantities of hide your team will kick in the forthcoming season.

To make it easy for me, could you please condense the propaganda into this sort of form following your press release:

Quote:
NAME: Financial Crisis Racing
SPONSORS: US Government
DRIVERS:
#7 Todd Kelly
#11 Jack Perkins
#15 Rick Kelly
#16 Paul Dumbrell
MANUFACTURER: Holden
6. Forum Management:

To keep things organised and easy-to-find, this is how the threads are arranged:

The Rules (includes the Driver Price List): For reference purposes. Please read them at least once!
Entries & Driver Changes Thread: For posting proper team entries/driver changes only. I’ll allow one livery to be shown in the initial team announcement, all others go in the Liveries thread.
Current Round Results Thread: Toast your team, or roast your team, depending on how they fare.
Liveries Thread: For showing off your warpaint. Apart from the above, I don't want to see any liveries posted anywhere else please.

Please make sure I don’t have to deal with to many posts that have wandered out of their natural habitat. Like anyone, I get cranky when I’m overworked.

Reminder on Posting Images:

Part of the fun of this is creating and posting your own liveries. While everybody likes to show infinite detail at super-high-resolution, not everybody’s screen can take it. While I can handle going over 400x400, it's a bit rough posting images wider than the forum display. I refer you to the piece highlighted in red - 800x600 is probably the largest you can manage without having it mysteriously disappear…

7. Prizes:

Yes, Prizes!
Aside from the glory, adulation, and the magnificent Pete55 Memorial Trophy, the championship winner also gets to carry off the fantastic prize of a free one-year Subscription to Ten-Tenths, kindly supplied by Ten-Tenths.com – The Known and Unknown Universe’s Premier Motorsport Forum [/plug ].
There are no prizes for second. Aim higher!
(Can I also say a big thank-you to EvilPumpkin, MagnetOn and the other forum deities for providing the goodies )

Entries are open as of now, so start issuing those press releases!
Your team can be altered without penalty until Adelaide first practise (March 19).
Comments/suggestions/queries are more than welcome, either here or via PM.

May the Fords be with you (or against you as the case may be),
