Paint Jobs

Due to the nature of circuit racing which is supposed to be a non-contact sport, the inevitable wheel to wheel or panel rubbing racing can cause many hours in the paint shop for repairs. Although some are very good, we do not therefore see the best paint jobs as they have to be practical when repairs are needed.

The best paint job I ever saw on a circuit racer was the proposed 'dragon' design for the 1999 F1 B&H Jordan. A show car was sprayed up and it looked sensational with the dragon wings airbrushed over the sidepods. It sat in Paul Stoddart's collection for many months, pity that B&H and EJ decided not to run with it.

The best paint jobs can be found in the Custom car / Drag racing world. With little to hit paint job repairs are rare (unless they rub the wall trying to put up to 6500bhp on the road of course!)

Here are a few from Santa Pod:

Has anyone got a picture/link to that dragon car for the '99 Jordan?

Finally, not a fancy airbrush paint job but perhaps the world's fastest Morris Minor pickup looking stunning in black. Any other examples, particularly from circuit racing?
