Banking at Silverstone...WHY?

The idea of having a banking at Club corner at Silverstone is a great one. However, don't get too excited. It will be preceeded by the stupid left hander at the end of the Vale. Why they cant have a flat out burst from Stowe and use the banking at high speed is beyond me. The cars will be accelerating from a near standstill thru the banking, not fast US style side by side stuff.
And expect the cost of entry tickets for the 2003 British GP to skyrocket. They want to reclaim the investment don't they?

Sterling, dont worry too much just yet, I have seen two versions of the Silverstone plans, one of them has the stupid left hander, the other doesn't. I can only hope that they saw how ridiculous it was to kill the speed going into the banking and have decided to drop the left hander.

I am sure you are correct about the prices. Is it just me or does anyone else prefer to watch the races at home? When you think about it, this year you pay £95 just to get in the gate and that doesn't guarantee you seeing a thing! If you have seats at Woodcote you will see the cars for maybe 30-40 seconds max. On TV you can see it all, all of the time. I know you can't recreate the atmosphere at a race in your living room, but I like F1 for what's left of the racing, and not the atmosphere, or the over priced food or finding out someone has your seat or the endless amounts of people that walk in front of you trying to get to their seats, only to walk back the other way to go to the loo or go get overpriced food. Call me old fashioned!

That's why I always fork out a bit more and go to a foreign race - the British GP is a rip off. My 3 day ticket for Spa this year cost me £94, £1 less than RACE DAY only at Silverstone.
