Chigley should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
History of a 1971 Triumph 2.5PI

Can anyone help with filling some details of an ex-Gloucester police 1971 Triumph 2.5PI that was entered into the RAC Rally in 1975, 76 and 77; it was also believed to have been entered into the 1976 Arkell rally. One piece of information is that it may have been prepared by City Speed Centre in Gloucester.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks
Ian

Anuauto has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
1975: Rodney Crabtree/Norman Greenwood No 203 is only one entered

76: shown as Greenwood/Crabtree No 194

77: ditto No 210 (my entry list has this entry crossed out so it may have been a non starter in 77)( I think no's 201 onwards were reserves that year and several withdrew before start rather than turn up in hope of getting a run)

Knowldale CC team

Address in Burnley Lancs (have full details but unlikely to be same after nearly 30 years)

The 76 Arkell Rally features in a Castrol film of various branches of motorsport during that season that did the rounds at the time and may be available still on video.

Hi Anuauto do you know if the Knowldale CC team are contactable. I know where the car is now but there is a big hole in its known history.

Cheers
Ian

I think Knowldale CC may have folded now. It was in the 60s that it was at its peak. The MSA list of clubs will show whether it is still active.
